So I am waiting for my gp to call back but...

I have just noticed a blister on my 2yo ds's top lip (corner). It looks like a cold site! Me and husband don't get them. My family do but they are always careful!!! He does have some spots on his bum and knees so am hoping it's something else entirely.

Anyway... I also have 4 week old ds2. Ds1 is always hugging and kissing him and I'm terrified he could have passed it on as I know how dangers hsv1 can be for babies! Anyone have any advise to offer? TIA

Could it be something like impetigo instead?

It's only one little spot looks a bit yellowy! Definitely not a cluster of blisters! But he's saying his mouth hurts. His gums are sore and he has blisters in his mouth! Xx

Oh no! Only other thing I can think of is hand, foot and mouth disease, but as the name suggests he would likely have them on his hands and feet too ... hope it isn't a cold sore! I don't think those would usually spread inside the mouth too?

Hand, foot and mouth came to mind when I read your post! Don't worry yourself until you see the doctor.

sounds more like hand foot and mouth as others have said! Even if it is a cold sore, most of the population have the virus but only ever get cold sores once or twice when little and then never again. i wasn't aware it was dangerous to little babies
