I work PT at the moment, but don't earn enough to pay national insurance or tax-I'm assuming this means I'm not entitled to SMP...I get paid weekly,so do I have to wait until I've started maternity leave(planned for 35 weeks) before I claim MA?Or can I start the claim while I'm still working?xx

You need to earn over £107 a week to claim SMP lovely

If you don't earn that much, you can apply for your MA during your pregnancy, so it is ready to start when you finish work. You will need a form from your work to do this from what I can remember

Some weeks I earn up to 130 some weeks, does it go on an average?xx

Yup, it's based on your average weekly earnings https://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyT...ort/Expectingorbringingupchildren/DG_10018741

You should be able to claim MA
I'm in the same situation and just posted off the forms today (you can do this from 26 wks preg)
You need to include 13 weeks pay slips, MATB1 form and form from your employer, sorry cant remember the name of it

Xx

Do they take an average?I best start getting my wage slips together now...xx

Yea its an average so pick your highest ones. They don't have to be consecutive, just all within the test period so if you had a week where you did overtime or got holidays so were paid more use them :) x x
