Hi all.
Asking for a friend. She works term time in a nursery and is due late September. Although she works term time their pay is calculated so they get paid all year round.
She plans to leave at end of July (nursery closed for summer). However I said to her it would work out best for her if he started her actual leave 4th September....that way she receives SMP from Sept rather than over the summer?
Does this make sense? It's been ages since I had to think about maternity leave.
