Just wondering at what age/weight did you remove the newborn wedge and head protector bit from the Maxi Cosi Car Seat?

Ollie is almost 4 months old and weighs about 14lbs...he's starting to seem a bit squashed in the car seat with the wedge and head protector in, but wasn't sure if I should remove it yet???

Any advice about when you removed it?

Thanks in advance,

Lucy x

I can't remember exactly when we stopped using it, but I think it was around 2 months. When he started to need more room.

When she was about 4 mths, she is now just over 14lbs so you should be fine to remove it now hun x

Had to take ours out at 4 weeks, Xander is a chunky monkey and his head and shoulders were all hunched up.

we took ours out at 3 months as we struggled to fit her head :haha:

Thanks ladies...:hugs:

...just tried him in it without the insert, and he looks much more comfortable.

We removed ours at about 12 weeks but then I found that she was slumping over when she slept, so I bought a head support from ebay which is basically the same as the newborn support but without the foam back bit, just the head cushion part. It seems to have done the trick.

Ooh - that's an idea....That was the bit I was worried about...if his head lolled about too much. Might see how he goes, but if needs be will check out your idea.

Thanks.

You can take the foam wedge out and leave the head support in - the wedge just pulls out at the back.

I've done it this week (LO is 13 weeks). Will probably leave the head support in for a bit longer yet.

Ooh - the things you learn on here...I shall go and investigate our removed wedge.

Thanks!
