I'm due June 30th and so far I've been planning my shower for the end of April when it starts to get nicer outside and I'll be pretty large by then, but I'm wondering when you're actually "supposed" to have a baby shower? Or when you girls are planning yours?

I'm so anxious to start planning it and figuring out all the details- I've even registered already.

How are you ladies feeling about showers? If you're even having one?

i know right i was happy when my mom said she was gonna make it but im sure gonna take a bunch of pictures with it before i eat it:)

i know im excited!!!:) i wish you guys lived close i would invite some of you :(

Mine is on Saturday :)
I'll be 35 weeks and I guess that's when its acceptable. Its not good to have it too early though, so about a month before the due date :)

yeah i feel a month before or a little bit before a month is acceptable but i guess it doesnt really matter its whenever you want it i actually wish i was having mine earlier:) oooo must be exciting post pictures:)

I wasnt planning a shower or anything, but my sister had a surprise shower for me on the 23rd of feb. My due date is the 22nd of march, so i was 36 weeks at my shower, i think it might have been nice to have had it a little earlier, but i guess it depends on your situation too. I work 6 days a week and now i am less then 3 weeks from my due date and am struggling to have everything done before baby arrives. It would be nice to be able to relax before my little guy is born, and also i was quite exhausted at my shower. But nonetheless i enjoyed it very much :)

pregnantteena- haha I love the idea of the tie dye!!

bethany- you have the cutest little ideas as usual! I definitely won't go all out like you are, probably just have a potluck or something.

One of my old teachers who's become a really close friend and supportive person in my pregnancy wants to help me plan it. I think I might try to do it outdoor/indoor at my house if it's nice enough outside and hopefully just do a little get-together with some fruity drinks (non-alcoholic ofcourse! If i can't drink nobody will! haha) I'm trying to think of what foods to have, and if I want to do gift bags or something. I don't want to be too giant and preggo for the shower so I'm doing it about a month n a half before my due date. I'm not doing the classic all-girls thing, cause my OH will want to be there and invite all his man-friends who are almost more stoked about shopping for baby stuff then any of my girl friends! haha.

Baby Shower Games
- My Water Broke!
Beforehand, freeze one baby each in an ice cube.
When guests have arrived, each one gets a "baby ice cube" in a cup. They are instructed they may not touch their "baby ice cube" or take it out of the cup. The first person who has a baby free of ice yells "My water broke!" and they receive the prize! ( A Chance Game)
-Diaper Game A Stinky Favorite!
The dirty diaper baby shower game is one of the easiest and funniest baby shower games to play. This game will get the whole crowd laughing as they try to guess what's in these dirty diapers. The party guests may look, smell and even taste the dirty diapers. Sounds pretty gross, but as long as they keep reminding themselves that the diapers contain chocolate, people can laugh out loud and enjoy the fun.
- The Price is Right
Just like the TV show, buy several baby items and record how much each of them cost. Display the items on a table and have each guest write down their guess of the price for each item. The one with the closest guess without going over, wins.
-At the Buzzer
During the gift-opening bonanza, set an egg timer to go off every ten minutes. When it rings, the person whose gift is being opened gets a little prize. (If it's a joint gift, all the givers could get prizes, or you could make them do rock-paper-scissors or compete in some other way to decide who wins.)
-The Left Right Baby Shower Game
Mr. JOHNSON prepared to take Mrs. JOHNSON RIGHT to the hospital as she just went into labor. As he LEFT in the car, he turned RIGHT out of the driveway. He had to go RIGHT back home because he LEFT Mrs. JOHNSON at home. They both got in the car on the LEFT side as the RIGHT side door wouldn't open. Mr. and Mrs. JOHNSON again LEFT for the hospital, turning RIGHT out of the driveway. An argument occurred about the RIGHT turn, as Mrs. JOHNSON said that Mr. JOHNSON should have turned LEFT. Mr. JOHNSON kept insisting that he was absolutely RIGHT, but Mrs. JOHNSON kept insisting that the hospital entrance was on the LEFT. Two blocks away after another LEFT turn they discovered they had LEFT Mrs. JOHNSON’s over night bag at home. So they made a LEFT turn, then a RIGHT to go back home to where they had LEFT the bag. As they turned RIGHT on to their street, Mrs. JOHNSON said "Let's just go RIGHT to the hospital and send someone else RIGHT to the house for the fact that we LEFT the bag on the couch". They went LEFT at the next block and turned RIGHT back around. Finally at the hospital Mr. JOHNSON pulled up to the front where he LEFT his wife to go RIGHT in. Inside the hospital they wheeled Mrs. JOHNSON away. “Where is my fie? I only LEFT her for a minute!” Exclaimed Mr. JOHNSON. A nurse rushed him RIGHT down the hall, they made a LEFT turn, then a RIGHT, and a LEFT turn again. Mr. JOHNSON, found Mrs. JOHNSON already in delivery. But he then realized that he had LEFT the video camera in the car. RIGHT away he ran out of the room and back to the car. Not only had he LEFT the camera but he had LEFT the lights on too. Mr. JOHNSON wasted no time, her ran RIGHT back to his wife’s room. As Mr. JOHNSON walked in all he heard was screams from his wife because he had LEFT her room and was no where in sight. I’m sure you can guess what happened next. As Mrs. JOHNSON had the baby Mr. JOHNSON passed out on the floor. But when he came to he got a shock once more. For there he saw Mrs. JOHNSON embracing their new little bundles of joy. With two babies on her LEFT and one on the Right, Mrs. JOHNSON turned to her husband and said “there is one thing LEFT to do, I think we should name these JOHNSON babies, how about you?

Thanks Emma:) yeah i know wers not going all out but were doing a couple big things:) lol i want to be huge at my baby shower and my boyfriend is coming with his friends as well:)

im confused how the left right one is a game...

but yeah, im gonna be HUGE at my baby shower. But we want the weather to be nice, and if we go much earlier its very hit or miss... plus i like the idea of an "april shower" because of the expression... I really hope the weather is nice though! OH is insisting on coming because we really want to spend as much time together as possible before he has to leave for training, so we are making it co-ed. all of his football player friends are so adorable about it, already trying to figure out what to get for a baby girl!
