Maybe not a usual post? Advice please?

My daughters dad doesn't see her but... You wouldn't HAVE to formula feed at all, Also as far as I know there is no way a newborn baby will be taken away from its mother for a weekend while breastfeeding or formula feeding for quite a while.

Someone else will be along soon who knows more about this than me.

from what i got told-OH wouldnt have to have LO overnight or for long periods of time alone as it's a newborn baby but i'm not sure how long this applys for i mean how long is a baby a newborn?

They wont give overnight access til the baby is at least 3 years old. And don't feel that you have to formula feed. It is your right to choose how your baby is fed.

Yes. If it goes to court they won't allow it til at least 3 years old. My sister's little girl wasn't granted overnights with her dad til she was 4 years old. If the mother agrees then there is no real age limit. FOB used to have his other son overnight from 3 months old cos the mum was fine with it.

Well I don't think he would get access straightaway. FOB has the girls every other weekend but they will be 3 soon and I arranged that as its nice to have some me time but I wouldn't want my newborn baby with FOB overnight..

Actually I am currently going through court with fob and I breastfeed and have been told I may need to show proof as to why I deem it in our lo's best interests to continue breastfeeding, especially if I am still bf past 2 years old. Fob does not have lo unsupervised yet due to lo being breastfed and that was judges decision at last court hearing a few months ago, my solicitor has told me though that she has a client (a father) who she represented in court and he requested overnight access to his 10 month old daughter who is formula fed and judge allowed this even though the mother was not in agreement. Unfortunately it is not cut and dry so a judge could allow overnights at 10 months for one child and 3 years for another, all depends on individual circumstances. In regards to newborn access, it would be little and often for first few months, gradually increasing in time. X x
