I want my baby to exclusively have breastmilk but I will have to put it in bottles sometimes. I have done so much research and keep coming back to the Playtex Nurser bottles with drop-ins, does the Medela pump fit on these bottles or is there an attachment?

I looked into this... I believe they make an attachment. I know it's on amazon and you have to buy two if you plan on double pumping.

I just looked it up... It's part of the playtex milk storage kit. It comes with one pump adapter.... Reading online it's compatible with medela :)

Thank-you so much, do you happen to know if the Target drop-ins work just as well with these bottles? (Target is the only place I've been able to find cheaper drop-ins). Thanks again for your help. :flower:

Sorry- I'm not sure! I thought about switching over to drop ins for convenience when my lo went to daycare but he didn't take to the bottles as well since he was already using the medela bottles.

Walgreens has the drop ins as well that are compatible with the platex bottles. I've had no problems and they're half the cost!

I ONLY use the target drop in liners. Target is literally in walking distance from my house so any generic store brand stuff I get it's mostly from target. I love the liners and don't see a difference in them and the playtex ones. (I only used the 5 platex liners they gave me with the bottles I bought.)

I don't pump into the bottles though, I just pump into the bottles that came with my medela pump. Then, whoever is feeding her just pours the milk from the medela bottle into the playtex one.

What are the name of the Walgreens drop-ins? What is the generic brand name? I just tried to look it up on their website and nothing came up except the Playtex ones.

It just says Walgreens on the box. Drop in liners. It's right next to the platex ones in the bottle aisle. I'm sure the target ones are good too.

I also would recommend pumping into the regular medela bottles and then pouring into the drop-ins. Sometimes you'll get a full feed (4ozs) out of each side, but not always and then you'll end up needing to consolidate pumping bottles and possibly wasting drop-in bags if you are actually pumping into them.

I actually used the Medela bottles only for pumping, freezer bags for storing, and then poured into Breastflow bottles for consumption at daycare. Just because you use the Medela pump, you don't need to limit yourself to a "compatible" bottle system.

That is what I also do, pump into the medela bottle, (take note of the oz from the medela bottle) freeze in storage bag with oz info from bottle, not the bag.

I have found the drop in liners are way off on the oz reading.
