I used a MeLuna cup before my daughter was born and loved it, but imagine I need a larger cup now I've given birth? It was several years ago that I chose the MeLuna so I imagine that there are new brands available now - any recommendations? Any good uk websites to buy from?

Also has anyone used a cup following an episiotomy? I'm slightly worried as my scar is quite sensitive and dtd can be quite painful at times. I've not actually got my period back yet :happydance:, but like to be prepared!

I don't use them, but I've had an episiotomy and I'd say it perobably doesn't make a difference...it may feel slightly more uncomfortable inserting/removing the cup, but once it's in it doesn't sit anywhere near your scar (if I'm right in thinking those cups sit right under your cervix?)

I've heard of the moon cup, diva cup...

I used a Diva cup before pregnancy, and even though I didn't tear at all, I prefer menstrual pads now. There are some great WAHM menstrual pads on etsy that are very comfortable.

I use a Moon cup. They are quite easy to find in Boots and Superdrug I think. They come in two sizes, one for ladies that have given birth vaginally and one for ladies that haven't...so yes I'd imagine you would need to get a different size.

I do like mine - sometimes it leaks if I don't put it in so it's 'sitting right', so I wear a cloth pantyliner as back up! They just get thrown in the nappy bin and washed with them so dead easy to use.

Up until yesterday I had an IUD and it did make my periods heavier...so for one or two nights of my period I found I bled too much for the moon cup to contain. I used a tampon those nights.

I use a mooncup after an episiotomy, not been a problem

I have a meluna, and I bought the softer version but have never tried their original so don't know what the difference is. Meluna also do sparkly ones if that's your think! But to be honest I would try the one you already have as I don't think I need a bigger one and have had 3 vaginal births to two big babies then a normal sized one. I think meluna suggest the size you need also goes by your age....? Something like over 30= bigger cup?

You may as well try the one you have, everybody's different after all.

There are so many cups out there, Feminine Wear has a good selection. I've been looking at them for months trying to decide which to get but I have no idea so no cup yet! I have tried Instead soft cups though and they were pretty good, although I think they sit differently to normal cups. I used the single use ones but found I could easily reuse one cup for a whole period.

I love my moon cup, been using it for a few years now, I have it in the larger size and despite being left with really painful and sensitive scars from severe tearing after my first I've never had any discomfort from it :)

I have a small sized mooncup that still fits fine after 2 deliveries (one EMCS and one vaginal). It depends on your body shape, and it's only a couple of mm difference anyway. I also have a lunette, which is a Finnish brand of cup (if I remember rightly).

There are loads on the market now. If you google 'menstrual cup support' there's loads of info and comparisons :)
