So I have two names for a boy and a girl but I am struggling with middle names and deciding which first name is best. What is your thoughts on these names and any middle name suggestions would be great. Also, I am thinking of making my boyfriends last name the babys last name although we are not married yet. What's your thoughts?

Boys names: Chase or Mason
Girls names: Courtney or Sofia

I like your choices, my faves are Chase and Sofia :) Sofia is one of my very favourite names!

I think that for a last name, it's traditional to use the dad's name so it's a good choice. I am all for alternative naming though, from using the mom's name, even if they are married, to using both hyphenated... I accept whatever personal reasons bring parents to that decision. I've even seen full siblings having different names (one got the mom's, one got the dad's) and it worked out for them!

My daughter has my name because my husband wasn't in the country and his naming system in his country is different.. and I didn't know which of his names they'd put in the "last name" box when he immigrated. My son has husband's name. In our case, we do plan on changing it so both siblings have the same name, but she's already 8 and we haven't gotten around to it. I really wanted my name in there but decided against the complication of giving them a hyphenated last name (which would've had a total of 6 syllables).

Any ideas on what style of middle name you want? Just a name that fits the style, or maybe a family name or variation, or something like that?

Chase Alexander
Chase Preston
Chase Andrew

Mason Peter
Mason Thomas
Mason Lucas

Courtney Isabella
Courtney Olivia
Courtney Sofia

Sofia Harper
Sofia Skye
Sofia Elaine

I like Chase and Sofia also.

As for last name, do whatever you think is right. Would it bother you having a diff last name than your child? Do you have plans on marriage? Do you think he will stick around? Those would be my major concerns

I really like Mason and Sofia. For middle names, are there any old family names that you'd like to use, like a great grandmother/grandfather?

As PP says also do whatever you think is right for the last name...... OH and I are not married and I have just adopted his late name and our children will have his last name

Sofia and Mason

Sofia Lily
Mason Jack
