I am 37 and ttc #2. Dd#1 took me eight long months to conceive and it seems that #2 is going to take even longer. :(. I've been going to acupuncture for the past 7 weeks and I have noticed some positive changes in my periods. I have felt nothing but good effects in my last 6 treatments but after my treatment yesterday I have been feeling very mild cramps. I'm 10 dpo and my luteal phase is 14-16 days so it's too early for AF and I usually don't feel cramps until the day or two before AF.

I googled and one site said that cramping after an acupuncture is a good sign because it means that your organs are awakening and that your acu has hit the right points. Has anyone else heard of this? Part of my problem has been scanty AF flow so I hope the cramps I am feeling are a good sign!

Hi, I had acupunture last week and have been also feeling a few cramps. My treatment is for TTC #1. My therapist says I have a yang deficient so we are working on increasing my blood flow also.
Did you have acupuncture with #1?

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling cramps after the session. I didn't have acupuncture with #1 but I am convinced that if I had I would have gotten pregnant a lot sooner. Instead I just tried every natural remedy I had ever heard of. I got my BFP immediately after starting baby aspirin and a little ACV. I think the baby aspirin improved my blood flow. I really should have started acupuncture a few months before I wanted to conceive, but I didn't really know anything about it.

This time around, I think the problems I was having with conceiving #1 are even worse with #2 because pregnancy is hard on your body and uses up a lot of qi. I am very qi deficient and blood deficient, along with kidney deficient and spleen qi deficient. I think I overdid it with diet and exercise trying to get back into work clothes before my maternity leave was up, and I'm paying for it now.

Good luck with #1! How long have you been getting acupuncture?

Just wanted to join you ladies as I had some cramping after my acu last week on cd22 and was a little worried about it. Hoped maybe I was going to get bfp but no luck and currently on cd3 of next cycle. Just had another app and he said we had quite a full on session last week. Said my pulses are really good today. I too have kidney deficiency is that kidney yang, I forget?

Hi misslissa, I asked my acu about the cramping and she said that some of the points stimulated do cause blood to flow to the uterus, and that could cause what I was feeling. So it's a good thing that you're feeling cramps or achiness.

If you have a shortish luteal phase and/or spotting then you probably have a
kidney yang deficiency. Sometimes if you have a severe deficiency in one or the other it can affect both your yin and yang!

Hey, if you're interested, I participate in a couple of threads where ladies talk about their acu experiences. I love being able to learn from others' experiences.

misslissa, here are links to a couple of threads for ladies who want to chat about their acupuncture.
