I felt a little crampy and thought it could be anything but now I'm getting uncomfortable cervical pain and pain low down like twinges every few seconds or minutes.

Baby is still wriggling.

Just no idea what it is just bothering me.

I don't know whether it's worth calling the midwife up or not.

I would it's there job to reasure us . A quick ring will ease your mind .

I've had this with my last pregnancy and now this one. My "lady parts" get sore, too. It's generally just pressure from the increased weight there. (It hasn't helped that I've had to sit for long periods of time). I've had no other adverse effects from this, and lying down on my side helps relieve some of it. I've also taken to sitting on pillows and even gel ice packs when I know I'll be sitting for an extended time (I was in the pit orchestra of a musical through this week, I couldn't exactly stand up for a stretch except during intermission!)

Still, ask the doctor if it's concerning you. Go ahead and call in, they may have you come in for a check or may have you wait till your next appointment. I didn't have a cervix check until about 37 weeks, and was only at about 1 cm (and he was born a week later) last time.

I get this on occasion. I chalk it up to RLP. But if you are worried about it, it does not hurt to call your mw/OB.

Yes I found laying down helped rather than sitting so it's probably the pressure.

I think he was laying very low, when I felt him move again the pain eased off and he seemed much higher up.
