Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of advice.

At my little girls 6 week check we discovered she had dropped 2 percentiles (she hasn't lost weight, just not carried on gaining at the same rate she was). We were automatically referred to our gp and yesterday she was prescribed cow and gate pepti junior on suspicion of milk protein allergy.

She's always been very fussy with her milk and sometimes would refuse after 2oz, she always sounds very congested, has watery eyes and runny mucusy poos and more recently very bad spotty cheeks and neck.

What I'd like to know is if anyone else's babies have had similar problems, been prescribed the special formula and had everything clear up? And if so how long should I expect it to take before the symptoms clear upand she becomes less fussy?

Sorry this is so long, I just really worried for her.

Thanks in advance!x

Had that with our first. Switched to soy and in a week it was all better. It can't hurt to try.

This happened to my son, if you are nursing cut out eggs soy milk and nuts from your diet. I had to do this and it helped more then anything else i tried. The other thing his doc said to do was give him neutramigen(sp?) formula just make sure it is the milk protein free. I hope this helps :)

My daughter has milk protein allergy. She would scream and refuse anything more than 2 oz but would scream because she was hungry, she would get rashes, and one time started to swell so we rushed her to the ER. They put her on nutramagin ( a USA brand from enfamil) which is hypoallergenic and she has been GREAT ever since.

My LO is intolerant to dairy and i have got him on Elecare. He hates the taste but it the best for his reflux and eczema. He also gets spotty cheeks and neck too. The pepti junior may not completely help as it still has some cows milk protein in it, it is just very broken down. You may have to go to Neocate or Elecare which are amino acid based formula's with no dairy whatsoever in them.
