My daughter is just over 2 weeks old. I have very fast flow so I typically feed her lying down. Anyways there are times when I will look down and there will be Bm just coming out of her nose while she feeds! Just running right out! It doesn't bother her at all. She doesn't fuss or anything.

Is this normal or should I be concerned??

This happened to my friends baby, although she was also loosing weight they later found out she had cleft palette I'm not saying your baby has a cleft palette but if your concerned maybe see your GP especially if it happens often xx

Have you tried laying down but with her on top of you (aka laid back breastfeeding). This might stop the milk from being able to flow in to her mouth so fast.

I've tried that and it actually does help just isn't always convenient :)

I thought cleft palate too. It probably isn't. But I would take her to be looked at just in case. Some are submucosal and not immediately obvious until a doctor shines a light on the palate.

She was seen by her pediatrician at 3 days old and he used the stick thing to hold her tongue down and shined a light all in there. Said everything was perfect.

Oh, that's good news! I guess the fast flow is to blame then ... I had this too, though my baby would splutter and cry rather than have milk come out of her nose. I used to take her off during the letdown and wait until it stopped spraying. After a while my boobs calmed down and it doesn't happen any more.

Ya, thats what I was thinking was that my let down may just be to fast for her to handle sometimes. It doesnt happen every feed...maybe 1 time a day if that.
