Trying to conceive through IVF. First pregnancy ended with no heartbeat at 12wks second ended with no heartbeat at 6wks my doc told me yesterday even though it might be a stretch that we might want to think bout treating my thyroid even though my TSH is normal its on the very high end of normal and thinks this could have something to do with my miscarriages anyone gone through this before? Please share stories

I had mine checked after my recent miscarriage but mine is well within normal ranges. I had been reading up on it a lot and if you have a high or low level it can definitely impact a pregnancy.

What is "normal"? My thyroid is below 1. I've been told by 3 specialists anything higher than 2 is no good for ttc. Have you been told why you are hypo? Do you have antibodies?

I was told the same thing less then 2 for pregnancy is ideal. Mine is in the low ones as well. No one was concerned and neither was I based on what I read. I also knew it wasn't a thyroid issue with our loss, our baby had a birth defect.

Not sure about antibodies or anything like that, sorry.

Totally. I only ask the "normal" because everyone has a different cut off. She is saying her Thyroid is around 1.5 I'd guess since she said its close to the high end of "normal" - but her OB may have a less strict reference range. For example: When visiting with my RE they said my 4.59 TSH value was too high to TTC so I needed to take medication to handle that. I took that to my primary and asked her thoughts, and she told me that her reference range is at 5 for TSH value! A 5! Isn't that CRAZY?! Now taken into account my t4 was also out of range I was diagnosed Hypothyroid. Before taking medications I asked my primary (my RE did not offer this test) an in depth panel of the thyroid and I got TSH, T4, T3, Reverse, and Antibodies. I was then diagnosed properly and discovered why I was Hypothyroid and now I see a regular endocrinologist who takes care of my thyroid health, including when I am pregnant! There are other issues related to thyroid besides TSH that impact pregnancy, so the more we know the easier it is to encourage someone else. I'm sorry for your loss. How did you find out about the defect (only if you want to talk about it) I lost mine when I was 9 weeks, and had a D&E.
