Miserable with a sinus infection. =/

I just feel like complaining. I've been sick for 2 weeks and thought it was just a cold 9and it probably was) but now it has gotten worse in the last 3 days... I am in so much pain right now. The right side of my face hurts soooo bad! I've had a headache for 3 days from it. I am pretty sure it is a sinus infection since that is where the pain is coming from, when I press on the side of my nose I hear a squishing sound, however my nostril feels totally clear and I can breathe easily with my mouth closed...I am trying to blow as much/hard as I can, my ears are just getting clogged and not much is coming out...I have a doctors appointment on Monday...

to top it off...my kids are in a mood, and they all keep fighting with each other, my 3 year old daughter being the instigator. I've already taken a bath and put a hot cloth on my face which felt good while it was there, but it isn't hot anymore and I don't feel like heating it up over and over.

It hurts so bad I just want to cry. Anyone have any home remedies that work for this?? I've never had one before!

have you tried rubbing the sinus lines? If you want I can find a picture of a face and draw in where to rub; my mum gets sinus infections and though rubbing it can hurt, it also moves the fluid so that he can clear up. Also try lemon tea, i think it tastes gross though lots of people like it, it will help, or lemon and honey.

i am willing to try anything, even if it hurts!!!! It hurts while doing nothing, so if rubbing it can help, i am totally down to try, this is horrible, I feel bad for your mom and anyone else that gets these often!!! I am going to look and see if I have lemon tea! Thank you so much for your tips!!!!


I just looked up a picture of sinuses, and that is EXACTLY where my pain is, with the exception of the one in the forehead. But the other two, completely!

Well there you go, where you see those sinus lines, you need to rub but always make sure you are going downwards; never rub upwards

thank you so much! Since I've never had a sinus infection, i know nothing about them, but after your advice I was able to look up and find a youtube video showing how to do exactly what you are talking about! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to go irrigate my sinuses and then do another sinus rub! LOL I need this gone- I have my baby shower on Sunday, I don't want to be feeling like garbage for it!!!!! I don't know if it is possible to get rid of them that quick, but as long as I can get rid of the pain I'll be happy!

I get infected sinus a few times a year - very annoying that constant face ache! anyhow i'm just recovering from a mild bout and am a great believer in sniffing up saltwater - not too much salt mind you! a it yucky but helps cleanse and get things moving

Oh my goodness portablechick...you poor thing, I couldn't imagine having this more often!!!! I just snorted a whole bunch of saltwater!!! LOL Hopefully I didn't overdo the salt, I was too lazy to measure, it didn't taste that bad though, so I am assuming not, LOL.

Everything feels nice and clear...but my face still hurts...I guess I was hoping it would feel better after irrigating .

no it will still be sore for a while but hopeful will resolve soon! i take regular paracetamol too - i really try to avoid taking any drugs but really the faceache is just too bad and too constant that i feel i def need it!
