I had a missed miscarriage 7 weeks ago and when I was pregnant it was discovered I had a large cyst on my ovary. I was told to come back to the hospital in 5 weeks as the cyst may just have been associated with the pregnancy. I said to the consultant that I thought the cyst had been there for some time as I had been experiencing pain for about two years and this was agagrevated by the pregnancy. On returning to my appointment two weeks ago the consultant said the cyst had grown and was now huge and that my hormone levels were in the cancerous region, he said he was concerned about it. I was admitted to hospital within 48 hours for urgent surgery and they were unable to save my ovary as the there was no ovarian tissue that the cyst had not harmed. There was also a tumour which I am currently waiting on results for - I am praying it is benign.

My husband and I were teenage sweethearts and have been together for maNy years I now feel angry with myself for putting off having children for things like holidays and going out which now seem so trivia. I hope that my results are clear and when everything falls back into place (the cyst was so large it had squeezed my womb etc over to one side which may have caused the miscarriage) we will be able to try and conceive again.

I just wanted to let you know my story and wondered if anyone else has had something similar happen to them? Or has anyone successfully conceived with one ovary ?

I haven't been through this but wanted to send you loads of :hugs:
Poor you - what a terrible thing to go through. I hope your results come back ok! Don't blame yourself for putting off TTC, it's what some of us do so that we give our relationships the best hope of surviving long term by experiencing life before we dedicate the rest of our time to our kids!

I wish you loads of luck and good health xx
