So on November 5th I went to the hospital at 7pm, to start my induction, but when I got there, turns out, I was already in labor. (I had told them this, but they didn't listen ) I had been in preterm labor and stalled at 4cm for 13 days prior with regular contractions ten minutes apart.
So they gave me some gel to help speed up my dilation, since that seemed to be the issue, and kinda left me be.
So at around 11pm it started to kick up a notch and REALLY hurt. A lot.
At like one or something they checked and hey guess what? Molly had moved back to back! They basically told me at that point that my labor was going to hurt a lot and take forever. Awesome!
So at this point I was laboring with no meds at all, and man...that stuff hurts. At 3ish I started bleeding really bad. Like dumping blood everywhere. And the doctor said it was just from my previa, that part of the placenta had probably pulled from my uterus ...he didn't seem concerned but that sounds pretty damn bad to me?
But shortly after that I was SO over the pain. I decided my natural birth was just not possible at that point, I was only 6cm dilated and decided to get a shot of something that was a pain reliver of some kind, which helped for a bit. I also took an Ambien in a rash attempt to sleep, which so wasn't going to happen.
I got an epidural at 7am and man does that feel weird! But so worth it, it's basically all that let me get through my labor!!!!
At about 9 they came and checked me and you won't believe it......6cm still. I wanted to cry. I was just progressing SO slowly. At about noon they decided to give my some pitocin, which they said would help with the contractions.......BUT IT DIDN'T. It slowed them down! I was so mad!!!
At 2 pm they broke my water which was actually really creepy. It felt super weird and I splashed
From then til 5 I was 8cm, they checked again...8cm.....omg. I was loosing my poor mind! I was so damn tired!
At 6:45 I was 9cm, almost 10...
Then the WEIRDEST feeling ever, and I just KNEW she was ready. Like I swear I felt that last bit of cervix kinda move out of the way and I had this overwhelming need to push...and they made me wait to start pushing until 7:15!!!! I was losing my mind trying NOT to push.
Once I could push I was so ready to have her out I was pushing like nobodies business. And I said no way, but I did let my mom film it! And honestly I'm glad I did...I like being able to watch it. Oh and by the time the pushing came up, I could feel it. oops.
I had one teeny tear but that's it. But with that last push, when she came out and they handed her to me, I lost myself...I was bawling like a little girl like freaking out. I couldn't believe she was really here! And how beautiful she was....I seriously lost my little mind, and smooshed her right into my chest and never wanted to give her up. Ever.
My beautiful Mollymaia was born November 6th, 2010 at 7:43pm. She weighed 6lb 15oz and she was 18 in long, with a huge full head of hair!
23 hours of labor in the hospital, 13 days of labor before that...and she is so totally worth it. I am just over the moon with her! I never imagined I could love someone so much.....
