To moms of more than one gender I'd like to know if and by how much your pregnancies differed between being pregnant with a girl and pregnant with a boy.

I'm 35 and thus considered "high risk." So, naturally, they ran me through just about every test possible and my numbers are superb across the board!

Anyway, I have been borderline high blood pressure since age 27 and after conceiving my son my blood pressure actually lowered! I became very amorous during my early pregnancy and climaxing was better than normal (sorry for tmi). I'm 33w 4d, and haven't had a single bout of morning sickness.
I have suffered extremely painful bowel and gas movements several times in each trimester though (especially when I'd eaten spicy foods).

I'm wondering if these conditions might actually reverse if I get pregnant with a baby girl next time. I'm worried about high blood pressure, but I feel I might rather suffer vomiting over not being able to pass gas any day!

So what were the major differences in your boy pregnancies vs your girl pregnancies?

Thanks moms!

My pregnancies were pretty much the same symptom and craving wise. I had a much higher sex drive with my boy though and was less sick with my girl.

Everything has been completely different this time with my girl. I had my son a year ago and had no problems at all (perfect pregnancy) but this one is killing me. Horrible heartburn , morning sickness, every test I could have due to hormones levels being wackey, everything hurts, pimples, dry skin and hair, emotional.....nothing like with my baby boy lol

With my girl I hardly showed, not much morning sickness, felt fab till about 36 weeks but I had the worst skin ever in the first and second trimester spots everywhere!! With my boy I popped out at 15 weeks and now I'm huge all out front, morning sickness a lot worse i had the classic woddle from bout 20 weeks and I get so so tired by the afternoon but my skin has been glowing!! He also kicks way harder than my girl did!! But I could put a lot of the symptoms down to second pregnancy, getting older and running round after my 3 year old!! Lol

For me my girl was an easy pregnancy, had too much stress so went into ptl but symptom wise it was easy. My son and this pregnancy (boy) my cravings are spicy food, cheese which means I have the worst heartburn ever. This time around my spd isn't bad yet, thank goodness!

Hands down, my girl pregnancy has been easier. I've checked out perfect on every test and only ended up in triage once for ptl which ended pretty quickly after receiving a half a bag of fluids for dehydration. However, I did have AWFUL morning sickness and problems controlling my anger.

With my son, I was admitted in hospital several times for ptl, was put on meds for it. I was also on bedrest for preeclampsia and SPD and was induced at 37 weeks because of my blood pressure. I cried all the time and I was HUGE with absolutely no energy.

With DS no morning sickness, no symptomps at all, carried bump high, great skin/hair/nails, everything was jolly good until delivery..

With this pregnancy (girl) 24/7 morning sickness, every single symptom in the book, mad aversions/cravings, seriously bad temper/mood swings, carrying bump low, a lot harder daily then DS pregnancy, skin/hair/nails awful..

Similarities: terrible restless legs, skin changes.

For me both pregnancies have been a world apart!

Girl - no sickness. No ailments. Hated orange juice. 1 stretch mark.
Boy - sick for 6 months, spd, heartburn. Love orange juice. About 25 stretch marks.

Differences

Girl: hyperemesis gravidarum Lasting for 40 LONG weeks
Hip pain and spd
Terrible heartburn
Painful upper trapped gas causing me to cry at times with the pain
Foods tasting nothing like they are supposed to, total aversion to tomato ketchup, toothpaste and coca cola! Lol

Boy: morning sickness lasting for 6-8 weeks, frequent vomiting, much less nausea and then totally ms free!! Yippeee
Less heartburn and trapped has, though, did have more lower trapped gas
More dizzy spells And more frequent headaches
Sciatica
Linea
No food aversions, everything tastes as it should and craving more meat and spicy foods

Similarities: no weight gain in first and second trimesters
Restless legs
Swelling
Pregnancy induced sleep apnea

Reviving. I want to hear more.
I've had two losses since my first born. And each time I start remembering symptoms and since I'm eager to find out gender I look for differences in pregnancy experience.
This time I've only just missed my first period, but I seem to already be experiencing some symptoms: things smell strongly, flavors are off, low appetite, I either feel wide awake or completely drained.

DD1 - no issues .no morning sickness nausea cravings nothing . Was massive at the end big all round bump !

DD2 felt nauseaous all the time it was ridiculous didn’t actually vomit . Had SPD , went in a few times for reduced movement . No cravings . Same as DD1 with the bump !

This pregnancy - felt a bit sickly the first few weeks then nothing . Bigger boobs than with the girls early on , craving cheese (someone else also posted about this !) no morning sickness . Smallest bump I’ve had and it’s all front and tinnitus praying it’s pregnancy related - baby is a boy !

Heartburn badly all three pregnancies I think that’s the only thing that’s the same !

My boy: SCH and morning sickness in first tri but otherwise had an awesome pregnancy. Lots of energy.

My girl: horrible sickness the whole time. Throwing up still and almost due.

:pink: My girl I had bad acne, exhaustion and put on weight all over my body.
:blue: My boy has made my skin clear up, my head & body hair has stopped growing and all my weight is in my belly.

Had restless leg syndrome with both pregnancies, sickness with neither and different cravings.

:pink: Girl cravings: fruity stuff
:blue: Boy cravings: salty & meaty stuff

Hey there!

When I was pregnant with our son i had an awful time stressed out and felt like I was constantly at the doctors ... this time we are having a girl and it has been a breeze everything so far is perfect ... only issue though is my skin has been terrible

I was more sick with my girl pregnancy and more tired with my boy pregnancy. Bad heartburn and nose bleeds with each.

Mine have all been practically the same. Although I definitely think this pregnancy has been worse but it may just be because it’s my third pregnancy rather him being a boy.

I did team yellow for my last two pregnancies, coincidently they were both girls. Differences I noticed from my boy pregnancies were that my placenta was anterior, both girls always had their butt up in the same side, I craved salty and spicy foods a lot more. I didn't notice much difference with nausea, but I did go much longer to going into labor with my girls than my boys.

I did all the old wive's tales and most pointed to girl, with my last. I noticed my skin was a lot more oily, and my hair didn't stop shedding until well into second trimester.

My first baby was a girl, textbook pregnancy, sickness from 6 to 14 weeks, felt absolutely amazing, went into labour naturally at 40+1 and delivered 40+2, completely straight forward, came home the same day

My second baby was a boy, was dying ill from the day I found out, threw up all day every day until delivery, baby was healthy except for going into labour at 30 weeks, I was huge!! Was on bed rest until 36/37 weeks, was pumped full of steroids, he never came. Got induced on my due date, labour was only 2 hours 20 minutes long, caught an infection after birth, lost too much blood and nearly had a blood transfusion, placenta started coming away, so it had to basically be ripped from me in clumps, stayed in hospital for 4 days with a raging temperature and feeling very unwell due to losing so much blood.

All in all I think my body doesn't agree with boys! I'm 5 weeks pregnant with my 3rd, and already starting to feel unwell... It's more than likely a boy again hahaha

Last one was a boy and this ones a girl. I’ve had hyperemesis both times but they’ve been very different pregnancies. I was much sicker with my son than I am now, still too sick for work and on 5 meds and in and out of hospital but don’t feel like I’m dying. Also my boy was very steady with his movements whereas I’ve been hospitalized for reduced movements already with this one. Went into labour at 31 weeks with my boy (they managed to stop it) 31 weeks with my girl now and barely had a Braxton hicks
