Hello all.. Out of curiousity.. Has severe morning sickness have any relation to chances of twins? I know twins could be a possibility in my generation... But i never thought anything of it actually happening until I've told many people I've been so sick since week 6 and now on diclectin so I can actually eat..( couldn't even keep 1 strawberry down..:/ blah). But I've had more than a few people respond saying " maybe you're having twins then!" Is there actually any relation between twins and severe morning sickness? I'm not worried.. Just curious! And any other signs of twins?!. Don't have u/s until first week of Jan sometime.

My morning sickness is severe and at 12 weeks is still ongoing. It started at 6 weeks, and I have a single baby. My co-worker who has twins said she gagged once the entire pregnancy, but other than that no MS.

My OB was more worried at my ridiculously high progesterone level being an indicator that I had multiples over my physical symptoms.

ive been sick since week 4 and my baby girl just happened to be one baby girl (unless theres a surprise at my official 20 week ultrasound). my mom still believes im having twins since they run strongly in both sides of my family. some women have hyperemesis gravidarum and have single babies but twins can make that last throughout pregnancy or at least longer in pregnancy because of the relation between the hcg hormone and morning sickness itself until the placenta takes over for a while. with twins, theres higher hcg levels so they say its more likely that you'll have morning sickness worse or for longer. my morning sickness came and went and when it was here, it was only here until i ate something then i felt ok in the least. i think more than anything my prenatals ( the iron in them) gave me the most of my nausea since they did prior to pregnancy

I was like you. Ms to the extreme. I was on diclegis, zofran, and one other one that was a suppository (yup, up the butt) and still couldn't keep food or water down. And only one in there. My dh was convinced it was twins (it was possible as I was in clomid) because he's never seen anyone so sick but nope. My guess is you'll have one little girl with lots of hair ;)

The throwing up started in week five and didn't let up till week 14. I still have to take diclegis to avoid throwing up and I'm in my 20th week.

I'm in a generation for twins too - my dad was one. Had severe ms with my first pregnancy and it was only 1. Have it again this time and not even diclectin is helping. Started right around the time I found out - only 1 this time too!

Extremely Severe morning sickness with my 1st..One baby...almost as severe sickness with #2,#3,#4 all singletons. My best friend was hospitalized for hypermesis (severe sickness ) only one baby came out lol!

Sorry there is no link with MS and twins, i didn't have any sickness at all and i'm having twins x

There is also no link with either sex in case you wondered that too, my friend has twin girls and has no MS and i'm having twin boys. unfortunately MS is just a random things that some people get and some don't x
