Moses basket stand advice

Hi :wave: just looking for some advice re what type of stand to get for the moses basket? Normal or rocking? I've read babies liked to be rocked, but I remember seeing a friends basket & it was always tilted, it didn't stand up straight cos of the rocker! what are your experiences? Thanks in advance x

Get one that rocks, you'll be thankfull for it when baby doesn't settle or you are knackered after not getting much sleep. My boy loved it when he was newborn and it would rock him to sleep every time. Thank god!

Thank you for your advice hun, but do you not find when baby is asleep the basket rests to one side?

Mine rest to one side but I have found that LO likes that. You can balance it back out by moving the basket to the opposite side that LO is laying on; there's usually a bit of movement in the stands.

Try and find a side to side rocking one. Perfect for next to the bed. My lo is 11 weeks old and I just need to lay my hand on her belly and rock gently to get her back off at night. It doesn't rest on a tilt.

We abandoned the stand from a few weeks, as LO got too strong and it rocked precariously the whole time he was in it. Not good! It just went on the floor. We did only use it for naps, though - I'm not sure I'd have trusted it for nights anyway.

Ours was a solid, straight type. Not a rocker.

Tough one I have a rocking stand ds2 hated and he did tend to lean to one side, ended up not using it. Dd however likes it and I rock her back to sleep with it

I have one that rocks and I hate hate hate it! I can't wait until I can get rid of it. It's rubbish and rickety and I'm always having to tighten it. It was a clare de lune one, not sure about other ones. The rocking motion has never came in handy, I'd get a normal one x

ours is a rocking one but i have stuch my slippers under the leg things to stop it rocking lol
perhaps get rocking its easy to stop a rocking stand from moving but no way to make a solid stand rock iykwim

We had a regular stand and a rocking one. Ds1 loved the rocking motion and it was handy to have in the middle of the night to sooth him back to sleep - never needed it with ds2 though as he was a good sleeper. Our rocking stand came from mamas and papas and is very sturdy. I was never concerned it was going to rock over. It doesn't sit on a tilt and it has little supports that you can rotate to stop it from rocking if you want it to be still. I don't have any complaints about it.
