Moving house with housing benefit..

Hi everyone would just like some help.

Me and my ex split up in November and I've been living off my wages (I work 14 hours a week) my child tax credit and my savings to keep us in our rented property until I send all my information to my claim for housing benefit. I just wondered once you actually got housing benefit are you able to move house into another rented accommodation with housing benefit as the main source of income that will pay the rent? Like will they accept that or not?

Sorry to hear about your situation
In answer to your question, once you are accepted for housing benefit you can choose where you want to rent providing the landlord accept people on benefit (unfortunately not all do). Just explain your situation to the estate agents & they will show you properties that you meet the criteria for.

Yeah, you can - I found private landlords rather than estate agents or letting agents are much more willing. Look on places like Gumtree and rightmove (you also avoid admin fees and applications this way!).
