archie has cow and gate, hes 8 months should he be on the stage 3 milk now?? it says for babies over 6 months, but i was told that he can stay on stage 1 as its just as good for him and changing his milk may affect him. but im unsure now, im assuming theres more nutrients etc in the stage 3 which he must need as hes growing bigger?!

no it is marketed as having more iron, as iron levels naturally dwindle after 6 months, however babies start to eat real food around this mark so will get the extra iron from food

none of mine ever have a follow on milk

We moved to stage 3 at 7.5 mnths as Omar was off his formula (he was on Anti reflux formula). We still mix the 2. It went better than the old one. But Omar is not a big eater or drinker, & we had to move to stage 3 as those days he's only eating yoghurt, fromage & custard. xx

I think the real reason that formula companies make special milk for older babies is that they're not allowed to advertise milk for babies under 6 months old, so it's just a way to get around the law. I was wondering the same as you so I compared the list of vitamins etc on the back of the packs and the difference wasn't big enough to make me switch, as list a previous poster said, your LO will be getting extra nutrients from food after 6 months. As long as LO is happy and doing well on their current milk, I wouldn't change.
