I am finally leaving my emotionally abusive husband. Tonight will be my 16 month old and I's first night at my friend's house. (So thankful she's taking us in.) I'm really worried about her adjusting to the new house. She loves her routine so much, plus last time we were at mu friends house she kept on saying bye bye--cause she was ready to leave. now we have to stay. I guess I'm just ranting really. I am also going to really miss our house and our neighborhood.

And the hardest part is that my ex is a great father and my little girl adores him. This breaks my heart more than anything.

Well we didnt move anywhere cos we was still living with mum when me and OH were apart for a 3 months but it does have an affect and its bound to but you try and keep everything as normal as possible. Do the stuff you would normally do and try and act the same as you normally would. She will get used to the change after a while. Its the same as everything, we all need to get used to it.. Its going to be hard for you too cos although you left its still a change for you too! Good luck hun

Children at that age are really flexible. She'll manage just fine. She's more likely to be bothered by the emotional changes of her parents rather than the change in location. As long as you stay postive around her she may remain happy and oblivious.

And be careful, if a guy's emotionally abusive to you, just take extra care with your daughter around him.

Thanks. She is doing pretty well. She is super clingy to me and cries profusely if anyone says bye bye to her. But otherwise she's happy. I try to stay positive in front of her, but sometimes I still find myself sobbing. But I am blessed to have my family friends to help me through this dark time.
