After 6 early miscarriages and countless tests to try and find an answer I have been diagnosed with the gene mutation MTHFR. I have the c677t homozygous mutation. My RE prescribed folgard which is a high dose of b vitamins and folic acid and also 2 baby aspirin for clotting. Any ladies with this diagnosis and regimen prescribed and did it help you get your rainbow?

No, if you have MTHFR *especially* homozygous definitely do NOT take Folgard. You need L-methylfolate which is the useable form of folate/folic acid. A person without MTHFR will break folic acid down into useable methylfolate, but the gene mutation keeps that from happening. Folic acid will keep stockpiling in your system, unable to be used.

A lot of Drs really don't know very much about the condition at all and you should seek out one who is knowledgeable in how to manage it.
