TMI!!!
Photo isn't great as I'd already wiped twice before choosing to take a photo so I've wiped most of it away!

Does this look like mucus plug or just normal discharge this late on?
I'm 38 weeks.

Been getting cramps and BH but nothing overly exciting !

Thank you in advance!

I'd say mucous but I've nothing to base it on since I didn't lose any of my plug til well in labour last time! However it's similar to what I'm getting just now which I assume to be te start of my plug following a sweep yesterday. Hopefully it's the early stages for you!

It could be either. In the last few weeks you can lose your mucus plug slowly. This is how I typically labor. Rather than losing my plug all at once, I lose it in bits and pieces. I also dilate slowly. ***TMI warning ahead*** I can tell the difference between plug and CM because my plug pieces will be really long and stringy whereas my CM is usually only there upon wiping or sometimes in little chunks in my panties, usually no more than a fingernail amount at a time.

So a little update still getting loads of it I'll add another photo..

I have no idea! See midwife in morning so I shall ask

That's how I lost mine this time around. With my first it was all at once but this time came away gradually just like that from about 37 weeks. He was eventually born at 39+2. I was convinced it would be any day from when that started! X

Aww I'm 38 weeks going on 39 so I'm hoping he will get a move on!
If I don't have him by his due date I'm being induced in the evening of his due date and I don't want an induction :(

I see midwife tomorrow morning so I'm going to see what she says!

I'm from the UK and unsure whether midwives check your cervix at around 38 weeks if I asked? If she did and I was making progress do you think she would offer a sweep?

My midwife was going to give me a sweep at 38 weeks because I'd already been checked the week before at the hospital and was 2cm dilated then. It's worth an ask if it's not your first child, she might if you do but I don't think she'll offer one before 40w if you don't ask for it. X

Yeah Hun it's my second child and I really don't want induction,
If she checks me and I'm already progressing I might ask

However my daughters birthday is Friday and if the sweep worked I could portentously be in labour on her birthday which wouldn't be ideal haha!

The struggles !

I'll ask her when she can offer one thank you x

Just thought I'd update so I was losing mucus exactly like your pics a couple of days ago and today I've just went to the loo and lost a huge chunk with blood in it, completely different from what I was loosing a couple of days ago so hopefully that's progress! How did you get on with your mw? I'm off to bounce on my ball til tea time! 👍
