my 6 month old wont drink her milk, she cries for her bottle but when i give her it she wont drink it and keeps pushing the bottle out with her tounge and then cries again. shes been like this for a few days now and im starting to become worried she isnt getting enough milk.

shes on two meals a day - breakfast ()about 8am) and dinner (about 6pm)

tryed to put her on dinner time feed aswell but she refused it. and seems happy on just two meals a day alon side milk aswell until the other day when she would refuse milk but take juice......im worried about giveing her too much juice and not enough milk

my HV is useless, havnt seen her since my LO was 3 months old, tryed to ring her but no answer or she is always out of the office. doctors say there isnt anything wrong with my little girl so im baffaled why she is doing this.

any sugestions?

Teething maybe? My little one is just the same at the moment. Hopefully should pass in a few days.

Have you tried offering the formula in a cup? If she's teething or has a sore throat it might be more comfortable than sucking a bottle.

The other thing that often helped when Dylan was playing with his bottles was to make it a little warmer - no idea why, but it helped!

Hi hun. Omar has been going through this phase since he was 5 mnths old. Until now he's abit fuzzy when he takes his bottles. If u can manage 18 oz throughout the day it would be great. U can add formula to her solids to make up for the dropped ozs. We also changed his formula to follow on & he liked it more. Teething on & off is always affecting his formula intake. He would take 18 oz in a good day, but sometimes he wont take more than 10 oz. We keep offering him & we give him dairy products. We also found that he likes formula at room temperature.

Emma did this a few weeks ago, it went on for a week. I took her to the doctors twice (two different docs) and they both said she was fine.

I'm kind of convinced that we had a dodgy box of formula, because the problem went away as soon as I opened a fresh box. Obviously it could have just been coincidence and I'll never know for sure.

I know it is easier said than done but try not to worry - a healthy baby will not let itself starve. Just try to keep up fluids as much as possible so she doesn't get constipated...and if she does, try figs! They worked a treat for Emma and she loves them! I just bought a bag of dried figs, chopped them and simmered them in a little water until soft, then pureed.

hi, thanks for replys but i managed to get advice for someone else on another forum who recomended upping her meals to 3 a day and she has been alot happier and content.
