My *almost* April Fool's baby

I was expecting to go over with this little guy, so I wasn't surprised when my EDD passed and I was still pregnant. I had an appointment with my OB at 1:30 where I hoped to discuss induction. So, I got up at 1 to put on my coat and wait for DH since I am not allowed to drive for another month (a whole other story...). I walked into the bedroom and had a medium gush, which I immediately checked. My liner was wet and soaked through part of my pants. At this point I was 99% sure it was my water since I had used the bathroom a half hour before and hadn't had any incontinence issues. I called DH frantically, being sure to tell him I was not joking! We went to L&D and they decided to chance putting me straight in a room instead of triage. The resident checked and took swabs and confirmed it was my water. She then said I was 4 cm and asked about contractions. I told her I had only had braxton hicks, but the monitors confirmed they were contractions. Eventually they started to hurt in my back and I asked for an epidural, which they were glad to give so they could start pitocin and not worry about overly painful contractions. Slowly, DS made his way down and rotated from posterior to anterior by rotating me side to side. At 11:15 pm I was complete, and by 11:25 my doctor came in and I started pushing. I pushed and pushed, and eventually DS came out screaming! DH cut the cord and they laid Colton on my belly and rubbed him dry while I talked to him. DH stayed with DS while they put a few stitches in my labia minora, the only tearing I had. DS was born at 12:14 am April 2nd weighing 7 lb 11 oz and 21 3/4 inches long with apgars of 8 and 9. I am sooo in love with him!
