So I had my sweep on my due date, 18th September. Then at 5 am the following morning I started having contractions. I would say they were fairly mild until about 3pm that same day, so my partner and I then went to hospital, I was 4cm dilated. Contractions continued but started getting further apart, I was examined again at 9pm and was still 4cm, I was soooo upset that I hadn't made progress. So the midwife told me and my partner to go for a walk, we walked for about 5 minutes outside to get some fresh air, then I was violently sick everywhere, ewww! We then went back to our labour room and my partner bathed me, then as soon as I was clean and dry my waters broke, I got examined again at 10:30pm and had progressed to 9 cm! About half an hour later I got the urge to push, I was pushing for an hour and 20 minutes and my baby boy was born at 00:19 am 20/09/2014. Weighing a massive 8lb14oz:cloud9:

He got taken to special care about 12 hours after being born because he was 'too quiet' so they suspected he had an infection as I didn't have the antibiotics for my group b strep during labour, so he had to have antibiotics through a cannula, but when all his blood tests came back they showed no infection. I knew he was fine all along and that he was just a quiet baby, but I suppose they have to be cautious

Congratulations hun, he's beautiful and what a lovely pic of your boys together :) hoping our little boy will be as loving to his brother x

Congrats love! Sorry to hear you became violently sick - any idea why that happened? Was it due to the pain?

Your little man is perfect!

I'm not entirely sure to be honest, everyone has said it's the gas and air, but I had gas and air with my son and I wasn't sick at all with him:shrug: xx

It's very common to get sick during transition (7-9 cm). I did with #1, was walking the halls in hospital thinking I was 5cm and had just read a poster about the symptoms of transition (vomiting, shaky, feeling like you can't go on). I got to the door of my room and was suddenly sick, all over the floor. Sure enough I was 7cm.

Congratulations immie he's gorgeous!!! Hopefully quiet baby = good sleeper :)
Sounds like everything went great.

Congratulations, he is gorgeous! Sorry you were sick. I was the same too in my labour. :hugs:
