Sorry I'm very late. Lincoln was born on 14/08/08. I forgot to post here
I was due on the 16th August
I had a scan 2 weeks earlier and the doctor said that the baby was big and i might need c-section if the baby was too big for natural birth. I told her i wanted natural birth, but I'm Asian and OH is a big guy.
There's no labour sign at all for me so the doctor induced me on the 3rd and she gave me another week, if nothing happened we would set the date for c-section.
After a few days nothing happened so i went for a long walk every day and the week after I saw the doctor again and i asked her to induce me one more time, but she didn't. But she gave me one more week ( last chance ) so i started walking again every day until on the 13th I had discharge but still no pain or anything else. I called in and the nurse said to wait for more labour sign
The next morning I had a bit more discharge but no pain and the contraction was still the same as the last few weeks. I started cleaning the whole house then, charged up my mobile phone, washed my hair, cut my nails, clean the bathrooms, then before i went for a nap OH told me to call the hospital about the discharge.
We went to the hospital at around 11am. but didn;t expect anything.
The nurse took me to the waiting room. i told her i had no pain and only a bit of discharge. She checked and said I was 3cm dilated already
I was so happy. She asked if i wanted to have baby that day or go home and wait until there;s more labour sign. I told her I wanted to have the baby that day.
The doctor was called in as it's her day off and she was on the way to another town but she turned the car and came back
She said that it might take 5-10 hours because it';s my first baby and usually takes an hour for every 1cm dilation. The doctor broke my water and told me to wait in the room. OH went home to get the bag.
The nurse came and check on me all the time. about an hour later i had more contraction but every 20 min. and the nurse came and check again, then i was 7cm dilated already !!!
The nurse was quite surprised, she ran out of the room and shouted to other nurse to go and get the doctor stand by
All the time i was lying and waiting , i wondered if i could do this, giving birth naturally with no pain killer. I wish everything would be perfect.
not long after that my contraction got stronger and stronger but it;s not too bad. the nurse check again and i was 9cm. dilated. It happened so fast. She said to me to press the red button to call her when i feel like pushing...( you know what i mean)
about 10-15 min. later i felt the very strong pushing feeling down there and the nurse running in and checked again and I was ready to give birth.
I was taken to the delivery room ( not sure i call it right ) which was right opposite. OH got into uniform and he was there with me.
Everyone was in position, so was I. I was in there at 2:40 pm. and after pushing for 15 min. i heard the doctor said "very good very good i can see his head, only a few more pushes and you will see the baby"
So after a few pushes he was born at 3:07 pm. It took me about 27 min. then. He was placed on my chest right away after he was born then they washed him and put him back on me. After that they took him to the baby room to check if everything was ok.
I was soooooo happy I done it.
Now it's the worst time ( for me ). I had a deep cut because the baby's head was quite big so i had many stitches. OUCH! it was worse than giving birth.
Lincoln weighed 3530 grams and he was healthy and it's perfect for me
