Hi all,
Last Wednesday (16th) my beautiful girl made her entrance at 35+3weeks. We had a 3 days hospital stay, where she was on a hypoglycaemia (sp?) pathway where they checked her blood regularly for the first 24 hours to check her blood sugar levels, and she had phototherapy in a special bed where we were only allowed to get her out for feeding and nappy changes :( We were allowed home on Saturday afternoon.
She is doing amazingly considering and the hospital staff where so impressed with her.
I just wondered what to expect now? Like because she was born prematurely but not like majorly early and didn't require a long hospital stay?

Every preemie is unique so it's hard to say. The best rule of thumb is to expect a delay in development so adjust her age by a few weeks until you see how she gets on. It might be that she manages fine but she might be behind for weight for a wee while. Make sure you mention it to doctors or HV when doing things like the 6 week check. They might ask you to come along for a follow up but it does depend on how well they were when they were discharged.
