i have not been home from work long. it is approaching 1am. i have been running around crazy all night but am used to doing it at least 5 shifts per week. i noticed my belly is almost pulsing. or maybe it is the baby's heart beating??? or he is breathing?? this has never happened before. what if he is in distress? what is going on? :( even my oh felt it and asked me if that was him breathing. it is definitely not hiccups. a totally different feeling. any ideas anyone. it's scaring me he might not be ok.

Hiya

I would think it would just be baby kicking or punching in succession. Baby probably just has very good rhythm! I wouldn't worry, but if you do feel overly concerned about anything, give your midwife a call to put your mind at ease.

Possibly hiccups? I know with Eli, it's rather rhythmatic when he gets the hiccups... though, never to the extent where I can see the pulsing?

Ditto to the above poster -- if your worried enough, give your MW a ring. :)

i don't know if it could be this but often i can see my own pulse very clearly moving my bump...

When I was pregnant with my 1st, my LO would do the same thing. It was her practicing her breathing according to my mw! Definitely not kicking, punching or hiccups... Totally different feeling! I used to love it :) Hope this helps! X

I can feel Charlie practice breathing! When we went for monitoring the other day, you could actually here it on the machine when his back was hitting the mic. It's a very good thing and very cool to feel!

my belly was vibrating under my ribs on friday lol.

it will most likely just be ur own pulse...i could see my tummy moving wit my own pulse before i was pregnant, and still see it now xx

thank you so much ladies. he has been very active this morning and late last night. i know i had read just a week or so ago about it possibly being him breathing. and i think thatmoight be what it was. or the pulse thing. i know for a while, i felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest and you can see wherever my pulse might be throbbing. i do think i was getting som braxton hicks this morning but i generally do around day light after sleeping a while. it wakes me up. nothing serious. i have NO clue how i did it but i ended up sleeping kind of on my stomach. i called my oh and told him as he was already up and at work and he wanted to know if i was seesawing. LOL jut a feeling but i feel like i am getting closer and to delivery date. baby is measuring huge and obviously each day is a day closer but i don't think i will go anywhere near 40wks. i just want a healthy baby!!

thank you again ladies!! it means a lot you all took the time to comment! xoxo

I think it's normal. I'm 33 weeks and I have a pulsing sensation as well that feels different from hiccups. It doesn't happen all the time and if I harass her enough and get her to move, the pulsing stops. Not sure what it is. Will ask my doc on Tuesday...

Has he done it anymore today Amanda? I gave up worrying about strange feelings in my belly weeks ago. With 2 babies there is no telling what they get up to. I swear they get all ninja style on each other sometimes.

not anymore today other than when i was posting my reply this morning. i have been stuck in a car today for about 5 hours and my whole bump feels sore at the moment though. my feet hurt and i'm just wore out. i can't imagine what it's like to have 2 in there. fighting for space and poking each other in the eye. and the cart wheels they like to do. karate kids for sure! it won't be long for us though!! i will just be happy when we can finally hold our babies! :hugs:

You need to stretch out for a few hours. I can't ride in the car for very long anymore so I can't believe you did it for 5 hours! Just relax and take care of yourself dear. Remember, you are growing a giant baby.

I'm growing a teeny baby and up until last week I was getting this! With all that was going on my bp was high and I was very stressed. My doctor said it was my aorta pumping out of my tummy and gave me some relaxation techniques to use if I felt it. If you feel it again just try to control your breathing and take it easy for a while

this does make sense. i was dealing with my ex and his new evil wife. and everything else on top of it is stresses me out. i have been so laid back this pregnancy too. it's just now all really getting to me too. thanks for the advice! :)

i will definitely not be doing that again. my mom kept asking me if i got clearance with the ob. i might have fibbed just a little bit. never thought driving a car could put so much wear and tear on a person. don't want to hurt my little moose! :winkwink: hopefully i will go and get in my bed. and be successful in staying there.
