hi i was due on the 18/07/12, i was convinced i was gna go early again (my 1st was 3 weeks early and 2nd was 4 days early) but my due date came and went, on thursday (1 day over) i had a sweep, and i pretty much started gettin cramps straight away. The midwife said to expect some bleeding but i was losing some clots and i was also losing my show. i woke up at 6 the next morning feeling fine i thought it had all stopped but i got up to go toilet and once i had finished i stood up and i noticed i was dripping a little bit, so i put a pad on and then i got a big gush, i knew it was my waters. i started getting pains every 6 mins apart, by around 1ish when i got to the hospital pains were every 2-3 mins, i was examined and was only 3cm i was sent round to the delivery ward (as baby had opened her bowel). i was told i would be examined again at 5 but by 4 i asked to be checked and i was 7cm by then, i started on gas and air at this point. i started to lose alot of blood and a big clot so the midwife called in a doctor and he said to put a canular in and get some fluid in me. by half 4 i said that i needed to push, midwife told me to just breath through the pain but my body just started to push on its own, after 2 pushes she said that she can see the head, and a few pushes later baby was here at 4.45. my baby was placed straight on me, and i could feel loads of blood coming out, it was dripping off the bed and all over the floor, next thing i know the hemorige team was rushing in and putting loads of fluid through me, as quick as the bleeding started it stopped, i lost 900ml of blood which is just over 2 pints. i didnt need any stitches at all this time. she weighed 6ib 7, me and baby was kept in over night but was home the next day
