Ok so just going to go through this quick as mums just feeding LO for me...
I opted for a elective section and went in for it, I was meant to be 1st down but there were a few emergencies so I ended up going down around 12.30? Got into the theatre room and my heart went, I'm a right wimp as it is, all the theatre staff were great couldn't of asked for any better team! Well my heart rate started going really high and I had a panic attack. I had never been as scared in my life! Not to scare anyone I'm just a wimp... My intentions were to be awake to see my daughter be born but sadly I was that panicked and worked up they ended up putting me to sleep. I woke up looking over at my mum feeding my little girl and she looked so proud! Also LO dad was holding my hand asking if I was ok, I remember the pain I felt in my tummy it was not nice at all. Eventually after LO been fed they put her right next to me and I remember looking at her being amazed at her beautiful thick black hair and blue eyes, she's so beautiful. Got back to the ward I was on and they gave me oromorth? Not sure of the spelling but it made me feel drunk and I didn't like it 1 bit so after that I had no pain relief. The next day I had a huge amount of blood loss and a clot fell out of me the size of a coffee cup it we terrifying, they gave me a injection that made me have contractions to push all of the blood out and oh my I had never felt pain like it, I was crying so bad. I went in on a Friday and was home on the Sunday, I have been given iron medicine because of my blood loss. It's been 3 weeks since I had LO and I feel perfect now. It was the scariest day of my life but so so worth it, I'm glad I chose the elective just sad I had to be put to sleep but that's the way it was meant to go I think

LO was born at 12.57 weighing 8pound. She's so beautiful I love her with all my heart she's my little best friend. :baby: :flower:

Congratulations! I had a section as well, four weeks ago. In addition, I had my tubes tied. This was baby number three for us, so I'm done. Sorry the experience was so frightening for you. :(

Yay on your 3rd child :) how was your experience? Id do it again for her in a heart beat!

Sorry it was a scary experience for you, I had a very positive one, despite being very scared at the start too.

I also lost a big clot after, around the same size, I had to give it in a tissue (gross) to the midwives to look at but they said it was fine and touch wood, everything has been fine since.

The oramorph is for pain relief following the section, I didn't have the same experiences as you but I only took it for a day afterwards.

Hope you're feeling well now and congrats on LO

Xx

Glad your experience was a good one. There worth the wait and pain xxx

Congradulations.sorry for the scarey experince..I also had a section. It scared me when my sugar levels dropped and my heart beat just increased but the doc was able to control it.

Everyones experience is so different i think, i wish i could of seen my girl born but i cant change it now.

Congratulations!! I had a scheduled csection and it was a fantastic experience. I was terrified going in, of course, and I had a terrible initial reaction to the spinal. My blood pressure dropped (which is does with a spinal) and as a result I had terrible nausea and almost vomited on the table. The anesthesiologist gave my a little something in my iv and all was well. Other than that, it was wonderful and an experience I will never forget :). My dd is 9 months now and I remember it as vividly as if it was yesterday.

It really was great. I wasn't afraid of the surgery itself, just the aftermath. I had my tubes tied as well. Recovery for me was really rough, with tons of pain. Apparently with a tubal it can be pretty bad. Anyway, by 3 weeks post partum, I was doing pretty well. I needed }buprophen throughout the day, and pain pills at night still. Now, I'm 4 weeks post partum today and only take 800mg of Ibuprophen once a day. Tomorrrow is my post op appointment. I would totally do it all again for our little lover man. :)
