Hi there! I'm new to this forum. To make a *very* long story short, I have been TTC #2 (i have an 11 yr old daughter concieved naturally) for about 9 years now. I have been through clomid, IUIs, and one round of IVF. After being married for 12 yrs, my ex and I ended up getting divorced. I am remarried now and starting down this road again.

My doctors never found out why I can't concieve....all tests are normal. This is our first month back on Clomid (it's been about 6 years since i've taken it). I took Clomid on days 3-7. The scan on day 13 showed 3 follicles: 40mm, 42mm, and 22mm. I've had cysts before on meds, so i'm assuming the 2 larger follicles are just cysts. Hopefully, the 22mm is an actual egg :) No trigger this month, he thinks i will ovulate on my own. I'm having lots of cramping, but I don't know if they are ovulation cramps or just from the cysts.

Any advice on how to get more eggs without the giant follicles? I've heard of taking Clomid for only 3 days can sometimes help.

One of my doctors for quite a while ago mentioned PCOS could be causing the cysts, but other than that, I don't have any other symptoms for PCOS.

Fingers are crossed that this little follicle was an actual healthy egg! :)

Anyone have any other advice on what would help?

Thanks!

Amy

Hi Popchick.

I am on my first cycle of chlomid at the moment. Prior to this I had scans as well as various other tests. i too had a large cyst on one of my ovaries (they suspected pcos), but noone of the others tests suggested this. I had a follow up scan a few weeks later, and the cyst has gone. My fs said that sometimes, they just come and go. She referred to it as 'one of those things'. She didnt' seem to worried. So unless you constantly have them, I think it is some what normal.

In regards to your egg question..... I wish I knew!

Good Luck. x
