After fasting for 12hrs I was 5.3. Nurse said cut off was 5.1

2hrs after my lucozade I was 8.5 nurse said cut off was 8.5.

She said my fasting number has caused the abnormal results ...

But all the info from the internet says my fastings normal but my 2hr was the.concern...

Can any of u ladies please shed some light on this matter x

Hi,
I am no expert on this but I had mine last week and my results were 5.2 fasting and 9.2 2hrs later.
Cut off was 7.8 2 hrs after the glucose drink.

She said to me that even if my results were 7.5 they would still have classed me as having GD

I have been monitoring my sugars 4x daily since the test and have not had an abnormal result - fasting is 3.9 and 1 hr post meals has been 4.7 - 6.0 so all well within limits despite me eating whatever I want!!

They should call you in to discuss results with you and let you know if they want you to start monitoring etc x

Hope this helps a little x

Yeah they should call you in to check you. had my GTT 2 weeks ago and my fasting blood were 4.2 - cut off was 5, 2 hours after the drink I was 7.9 and the cut off was 7.8 - I'm at the diabetes clinic this afternoon as I apparently have GD xx

Thank u ladies x I was told that I would be getting a call from the diabetic nurse ( this was on Monday ) I have yet to receive such call xx

Call them back and get them to explain, in the meantime just eat sensibly (you can google for good GD foods). I passed the GTT but they were certain I would fail it due to bubs' weight and my PCOS. I was 4.1 fasting and 4.2 after the manky drink and 2 hours but even though I will not be tested again I am still classed as 'at risk' and am trying to stick to foods good for GD just in case (my weight gain is less than a stone due to HG which has probably helped!).

I hope diet can get it under control for you and it's disgustingno one has given you any help so far.
