so im gonna finally try and write my birth story..
it all started a couple days before really so very slow start to my labour,
at my 39+6 midwife appt i had a sweep which gave me cramping and i lost some show.. it did help me to start i believe but slower than slow
went through the rest of the week symptom spotting had all the signs but that was it,, on the thursday 40+2 i went to do a spot of cleaning for a lil ole lady i no,i go weekly to see her, thrashing the dyson around her house must of helped in hindsight..
left there and went off to do abit of shopping.. and thought i was having twinges..later that night me and other half watched catch up of OBEM and ironically i started getting tightenings every 15 mins..
that was the beginning, they went through the night did manage to sleep a bit come 5 am they were 5 mins apart.. not really painful just uncomfortable
they went on at 5mins apart for over an hour..
and then they tailed off getting further and further apart i was gutted..
so this is friday now i sent dh off to work and i bounced on my ball most of the morning.. felt guilty for lying around when i prob should of..rang and spoke to L&D they said obviously not there yet.. get someone to put my tens back on i couldnt do it alone, so DH came back and assisted me then off he went again
tried to go back to bed in the afternoon but couldnt really settle.. wanted to try a bath but didnt wanna have the tens off when i got back out..
the bath was bliss but didnt really speed up or slow anything
bless my dh came back again to put it back on, good job he wasnt far away.
rang L&D again about 8 ish contractions were til between 5-10 mins very irregular. they said come in and get checked @10pm which we did
was 3cm dilated thank god!! midwife did another sweep and had a massive amount of plug/show come away.
we made our way home.. i sent dh to bed, i tried to sleep but the mw must of triggered me.. the pain was immense i spent the next 4 hours crawling around the bedroom trying to ride it out. think i rang L&D at 2am and mw told me to hang it out abit more.. i had to ring again at 4am couldnt handle it lol
we made our way in. was finally checked at 5am and was 5 cm bloody horayyy..
the next 6 hours i spent sitting on the edge of the bed, and bouncing on the ball leaning over the bed.. stil with my tens on.. best £7 ive ever spent my tens was a saviour especially the boost button.
i was checked again at 10 am should of been 9 am but some how it was an hour late and i was stil only 6 cm!!
i was so gutted it was untrue
time for the gas and air!! used 3 bottles in all hehe great stuff
the midwife explained that Maci had her head flexed and it was delaying me progressing.she should of had her chin on her chest..
i was given 2 hour to see what happens.. and if not they would break my waters at 12.. this is now sat at 12.. tired wasnt the word!!
in those two hours my blood pressure raised to border line and i was one more check away from getting transfered to the nearest hospital 40 mins away.
dunno wether it was luck or not but the lady in the room next door collapsed and i was forgotten for about for 45 mins..very hectic and scary time we could hear everything going on. thankfully everything was ok with the lady and her baby,
during this they missed that last check on my bp and when a mw finally checked me it had returned to a normal rate,whilst all that was going on next door i was up walking around.. i felt that pressure in my bottom o my with every contraction my body started to push.. finally my mw returned and i was checked.
i was 9cm!!!!! at long last 12 hours later i was nearly there. whilst i was being checked the mw broke my waters. and Maci head must of moved into the right position.
within half an hour i was ready. my dh was taking my tens off so i could get in the pool.(whilst which he turned it up not off.. if looks could kill). but i just couldnt do it ..couldnt get in have to laugh at myself
i tried pushing on the bed on my knees , tried it lying on the bed, but nothing seemed to be working. although i only pushed for 35 mins in total.. the mw suggeted the birthing stool , my mum swore by the stool right thro my pregnancy.
my hubby sat behind me to support me and off i went . pushed for a very short time and Maci was here.. couldnt believe how quick it was! born dead on 2pm on saturday the 7th. we had skin to skin for over an hour then she was weighed. 6lb 14oz and a quarter. not sure how long she is they dont do that.. feed at the breast and was a very happy little girlie..
so in love with her its untrue..even tho im yet to finish a hot cup of tea! lol
