With all the extra weight and heat.

When I walk it feels as though the arches of my feet are being flattened out and pushed flat on the floor. So sore.

The heat has just turned me into elephant woman.

I'm a misery today. Good luck to hubby n the kids!

Try soaking them in cold water or perhaps using an ice pack around them a few times a day to take swelling down, then keep them raised. Get plenty of cooling foot and leg gel slapped on them to refresh them afterwards! xx

I'm dreading this weekend because we have so many social commitments and I just don't have time for some me time!

Am gonna buy some ice packs though for the evenings

Oh that's not good for your poor feet you've got so many things on this weekend....just make sure you ice them and keep them raised as much as possible in between to get the swelling down xx

I feel your pain, mine are exactly the same! They've been like this for weeks now (since about 24w) and the heat makes them ten times worse!

My nightly ritual is soak them in cool water for ten mins or so, get them up on a foot stool with a pillow for extra elevation and sleep on my back but propped up (I'm told lying flat is a bit of a no go at this stage!). Also drinking plenty of water to flush out my system seems to help.

Good luck, hope they come down a bit xx

Poor you. They don't look comfortable at all. Like others have said, ice them!! Also I have got a Cool and Revive soothing spray (Cussons mum & me) that was on offer in Boots. Might be an idea to carry something like that around in your bag x

Yikes.. Your poor feet, they look painful, cool soak and keep them raised, and don't cross your feet!
Hope there a bit better for you today, x

mine JUST started to swell the past few weeks its terrible!! :(

Omg your poor feet. I thought mine were bad I feel guilty moaning now but they bloody kill by the end of the day. Get hubby to rub them too it helps when I get mine rubbed.

Omg!!! Those look like mine did in my last pregnancy when I had pre eclampsia. Definately get it checked out Hun those are majorly swollen. Elevate and stay off then for a bit xx

Mine have started swelling as well. Not good when I was trying to buy shoes today!
I ended up sat in my mums garden with my feet in the freezing cold swimming pool water, it was wonderful :)

Not trying to scare you, but I would be sure to talk to your doctor about the swelling. That is a strong sign of pre eclampsia. My friend had her baby last week, 8 weeks premie and the days before her legs and feet looked just like yours. It might be worth a call just to be safe...but could be normal swelling too.

My feet & ankles are swollen to so I feel for you! My hands are too! My blood pressure is checked every week and its normal. Good idea to get blood pressure checked or mention to your doc/mw

I'm not having a problem walking though and if I stand on cold tiles that helps :) also keep your feet up ESP if you have been on your feet all day. Try take it easy for a day or two they should go down mine do but I have just been on my feet for last few days so expected then to swell up

Definitely have the doc check it out as it's a sign for pre-e, but don't worry too much before you get it checked. One of the girls on the June Mums thread had feet that looked pretty much like that, and everything was fine.

Other signs of pre-e are rapid weight gain, high blood pressure, and swelling of the face. If you don't have any of the others, while it's definitely important to get checked out, it's also important to stay calm and keep things in proportion, and it's probably just regular pregnancy edema.

Thanks ladies,

I'm not too worried about Pre-e. I was exactly the same with the swelling with my son. I went to the hospital last time and it was just normal pregnancy symptoms.

My feet go down by morning and then slowly swell over the day

They told me to look out for other body parts to swell before thinking about Pre-e so have it covered.

I sat all day with my feet in a bucket of ice cold water whilst at the in laws yesterday and it helped slightly. They still swelled though but the water gave some relief.

I am looking forward to this weather breaking and it bein a big cooler!

If it makes you feel any better, here are my puffy pig trotters after a day of painting (excuse the little splodge of emulsion - I can't bend down far enough to wipe it off and my bath's still running!) :haha:

Xx

Waaaah! Woe are we!

Could be worse, my pelvis could be aching a la pgp/spd. Oh wait...! Xx

Oh no!

I've been lucky and not had anything like that.

Apart from my feet issue I think I've felt the best now that I have all pregnancy!

I honestly shouldn't complain - I've gotten to nearly 29w with no probs! I think it's more to do with overdoing it a bit the last couple of weeks. Xx
