Hello everyone,

Just a quick birth story for the arrival of my little man. Some of you from third tri boards may have read many of my threads moaning about being overdue lol, and having false starts for labour for over a week. Well at 41+5 they broke my waters which started off an extremely quick birth which was a little traumatic but thankfully ended well!

They broke my waters at 8.30pm, by 9.30pm I was a screaming wreck as I couldnt cope and I had progressed to 7cm. 10 minutes later I wanted to push and the MW said I was 9cm and so advised there was no way I could get the epidural as I had requested. By 10pm I was fully dilated and pushing, which actually felt a lot better than the pain beforehand!

Up to this point all was going well, however, an hour and a half later and my little man still wasnt with us. They discovered he was back to back and was also having difficulty getting past the spines (exactly the same problem I had with my dd). I continued pushing but now had the head MW in my room and they started to really encourage me to push and push and in the haze of everything I could hear them discussing his heart rate which apparently wasnt looking good. They called a doctor in who immediately said he needed to come out so I was given an episiotomy and they used forceps to get him out within 2 more contractions. My son was placed immediately on my chest although I was a little in shock to take it in, and then he had to be taken away because he wasnt crying much. After a good rub down he was fine and weighed a good 8lb 7.5oz and it had turned out he had the cord round his neck.
I was so happy he was now safe however I then had a PP bleed whilst being stitched up so remained in stirrups for 45 mins and had more wires and drips attached to me whilst df held ds.

Thankfully after it all I am doing much better now I have had a blood transfusion, and my little man is perfect and doing brilliantly.

Oh my goodness--what a whirlwind! Warmest congratulations though on your sweet son! I'm so glad he is here safely and you are both doing well (give or take a blood transfusion!!!!). Best wishes to you both.

Congratulations baileybubs! So glad your little boy has arrived safely, albeit in a bit of a stressful way! All that third tri overdue moaning seems like ages ago doesn't it?! So funny that we all had boys!

Lol I know, all these lazy laid back boys that didn't want to arrive on time lol! One of my MWs said that all of the build up I had must have been slow labour and was what caused it all to go so fast when it happened. In a way I'm glad I had to have my waters broken coz could you imagine if they had gone by themselves when I'd been at home alone with dd!!! Yikes!

Congrats on your little prince ! Boys are so much fun :)

Congrats Bailey! I had been checking for updates from you to see if you got your vbac too. I'm so glad you did although it sounds far from stress-free! Hope you are recovering well and wnjoying your LO's. Lovely family pic btw!

Thanks ladies, I'm glad I got my vbac now as I can see that this recovery will be much quicker. Yesterday was a bad day but I think that was the peak of the pain as it's feeling much better today.

And it's so nice seeing everyone's babies now arriving!

My VBaC birth was very. Similar ! I pushed for 2.5 hours tho and he was back to back ! I had a massive bleed tho and got taken too theatre too stop it and ended up with 4 bags off blood transfused !!

Congratulations tho I had seen how fed up off been preg you were getting x

Thanks hun, sorry you got rushed to theatre I bet that was scary!! I was indeed getting very fed up of being pregnant lol! Now I'm recovering I feel much better than I have done over the last few weeks.
