My trio of troubles.....

Hello Ladies
I'm not quite sure what this thread is really, a bit of a vent I guess.....and an attempt to find some people who might understand....I hope that is okay?

In the last two weeks my simple low risk pregnancy has become the total opposite.....I have been diagnosed with obstetric choleostasis and raised LFTs, found out baby has low amniotic fluid around her and slightly reduced blood flow through the cord.

The result of this.....a 2 night stay in hospital, ursoflax tablets, steroid injections, weekly growth scans, twice weekly bloods and daily ctgs!

I appreciate how much the doctors and midwifes are doing by monitoring us so carefully, and have been told that if/when baby becomes at all unhappy she will born.

I'm just feeling a bit low really and wondering if theres anyone out there who can sympathise or share there experiences of all or any of these problems. Also I am keen to ask for an elective section based on these problems and the fact that my mum died in childbirth.....does anybody have any ideas on whether I will be able to do this?

Sorry to hear you are going through this - try the obstetric cholestasis post on the second trimester board (its at the top) and maybe also try posting in third trimester about it too. I have high risk pregnancies but have neevr experienced what you are going through.

Hang in to the fact that baby is at 34 weeks already and should be ok if born now even if there is an ICU stay - the longer he can stay in the better though. Hope you can get some rest and try to stay calm the rest of your pregnancy. Good luck!

hi hun i can totally sympathise with you, i was diagnosed with oc 2 weeks ago then told baby is transverse then that hes measuring huge
am on vit k , urso, iron and piriton and twice weekly bloods and ctgs
