This is my 2nd baby, my first birth ended in forceps and was a long awful recovery, I was dreading it second time round!
With my first he came 4 days early! So when I got yo my due date this time I felt like it was never going to happen, the next morning at 1:30am I woke up with pains, I layed in bed for an hour and they were still coming so I got up, by 4pm I had text my mil to come and look after ds and woke up hubby, contractions were every 5 mins lasting about a minute. I called l&d and they said I can go in if I want to but I may be sent home,
We took our time and got yo the hospital at 6:30 I was checked and told I was 3-4cms dialated, I was coping well with my tens machine, the midwife suggested I go home get something to eat and drink and see how I go, so we went to mums who was just down the road from hospital.
We sat and chatted while eating breakfast and the contractions were getting stronger but I was still coping ok. I decided to stand and try to live about a bit and in a few minutes things started getting more intense, I felt like the baby had moved down lower.
We all made our way to hospital quite promptly it was 9am when we got there and I was starting to struggle with the contractions, when we got yo the labour ward I felt like I'd lost control a bit and got a bit teary. I went to the toilet then got on the bed to be checked over when I got an almighty contraction and I couldn't help but just scream my head off ☺️ The midwife checked me and said you're 10cms!!! Wow I thought that was quick! They were rushing around trying to get my canula in while I was rolling around in pain and hanging off my dh's neck lol, I was asking for pain relief but the whole time my body was just pushing and before I knew it the midwives told me to push and after 3 pushes my beautiful daughter arrived at 9:33am weighing 6lb 14oz . I could not if wished for a better experience even though it was mega fast and I was a bit shocked, but the recovery was great this time.
