I'll try to keep this short and sweet!

Since 36 weeks I'd been having occasional contractions. On Monday (40+4) I went for a sweep. I was 3cm dilated and my cervix was flat but posterior.
Wednesday night I had contractions which woke me up but were pretty mild. Thursday morning I thought "hmm, today might be the day!". I was expecting to go overdue- I was induced with DS and had him at 42 weeks and most babies in my family are induced.
I was timing my contractions but they weren't very regular- some 7 mins apart, some 1.5 mins apart. But as I am GBS+ I decided to call and ask about going in at 10am as they were getting pretty sore. I was on all fours leaning on my birthing ball with DH kneeding my back between contractions.
We called my brother to come and drive us to the hospital but his car was blocked in at work :dohh:. We got a taxi- bumpiest ride ever with an emergency stop- I thought LO would arrive then and there :haha:.
We got to the hospital in about 5 minutes and I got taken to L&D and found it was the pool room- amazing news as I was desperate for a water birth but thought I wouldn't get one as there was only a 1/10 chance. I got checked and was 8cm and then hoped in the pool at about 11.30am- bliss!
I felt the urge to push soon after but there was a bit of cervix left. This went on for a while and I stalled at 8-9cm with cervix left. I had G&A and went loopy- I thought the thermometer was a Dairlyea sandwich  :haha:. I really loved using the pool, it was so much easier to change position and it helped a lot with the pain.
I got out and had my waters broken at about 12.30pm. They felt so hot! got back in the pool and eventually it was time to push :). LO had started out back to back but turned to face my hip as I was pushing and the shoulders got stuck :(. When the MW saw she had me jump up to get out as it could be serious. But as soon as I stood up LO's head popped out and soon after I had my baby in my arms! Our little yellow bundle turned pink :cloud9:.
I had a small 2nd degree tear, only just a 2nd too. With DS I had a 3rd/4th degree tear requiring over 50 stitches. This time I had the choice of getting stitched-she said 3 little stitches- or letting it heal naturally. I opted for no stitches (scared of the local anaesthetic injection ). It's pretty sore but I'm sure it'll be better in no time :).
LO weighed 8lbs exactly and looks just like a miniature version of her brother as a newborn :cloud9:.
