I'm really stuck for boys names. Girls name is pretty much sorted but boys I'm really struggling with as I don't want to give bubs a name that's really popular, but both my fave names (Oliver and Harry) are top 3 for last year.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Baby is going to be mixed race, I'm white, OH is Indian. Our girls names reflect this but boy name wise me and OH both seem to like more traditional names. OH has an Indian name but is British so don't think he's too fussed if bubs has a western name, but I think his family might prefer some kind of asian influence to the name. (Not that I'm all that bothered what his family think) Also wouldn't mind some girls name suggestions if people have any. xx

ETA: OH was also keen on Oliver and Harry. Think he's a bit miffed I won't use them just because they're popular tbh

I have an indian friend called Jaspal so how about Jasper?

My cousin's baby is white/asian mixed race and she's called Aminah, Amy for short. they also considered Rubina, Ruby for short, to reflect both cultures. Not sure about boys names though.

If you don't mind me asking...what is your girls name?

I have an Indian friend called Mitesh...but shortens it to Tesh which I think is really cool.

On a completely different note....how about Max? I think it'd be quite cute :)

I do like that name, but a colleague of mine has a son called Max, don't want her to think I stole her name :dohh: It's such a minefield!

OH and I agreed the other day not to tell people the name we decide on so can't say the girls name or i'll get told off if he finds out  xx

Surely when you say you won't tell anyone that doesn't include us??!!! Hehe only joking :)

It is SUCH a hard decision this baby naming....will you be finding out the sex of the baby??

I'm trying not to worry about names TOO much - I know I have names in my signature but I am very likely to change my mind! I'm staying on Team Yellow so I don't want to stress too much about my boys name for example...then end up having a girl. Then all the stress woulda been for nothing hehe! xx

Ok first (joking) suggestion--why dont you mix it up a little bit and call him Harriver?lol thats both your favourite names and definitely not in the top 3 ;)
Failing that what about Harrison?
Orrr what I was really going to say was that some baby name sites have bits where you can look through all the baby names from certain cultures, why dont you do that and see if theres any you like for Indian names?
xxxxx

Here you go babe...https://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/indian-names-2.html xxxx

Thanks jen :) Gonna have a look through those now.

I am hoping to find out the sex, so fingers crossed it'll be a girl and then it'll be problem solved  Although then I think everyone will hate my girls name, which is why i'm not planning on telling xx

Here are some names that I found that are Indian.....but would sound pretty normal in western society

Ameya (m,f)
Chandra (m,f)
Deven (m,f)

Ishana (f)
Kala (f)
Kali (f)
Kimaya (f)
Lakia (f)
Shivani (f) - I actually knew a girl with this name.

Nikhil (m)
Nishan (m)
Rohan (m)

I have a Harry - he is the only one in his whole nursery, would you believe! Nearly all the mums at work have a Harry however but it sounds different when they talk about theirs weirdly. It's a good name hun!
