Hi all! We found out today that we are having a girl! Her name will be Violet Iris, However i'd like a third middle name (to go either before or after Iris) to honour my Nan whose name is Margaret. I don't want to use Margaret so would like a name connected to it either by relation/similarity/meaning. So far we've found Maisie, Pearl and Greta. Any others?!

Daisy is a pet name for Margaret (or at least it was in my grandma's generation, she was Margaret and had several friends named Margaret several of whom went by Daisy which was common apparently)- although that might be flower overkill!

Violet Iris Daisy sounds more like a list of flowers though rather than a name.

How about: Violet Iris Marguerite? I think that has the best flow!

Violet Iris Pearl is also a nice tribute, since the meaning of Margaret is "pearl".

Some names that also mean Pearl: Gretchen, Megan, May (I just read online that May is the Scottish form of Margaret)

Thanks everyone! I like May, but thats my nieces name so its kind of a no-no. My nans middle name is June which i think flows well too and i love the alternative 'Juno', however i worry about the initials VIJ or VJI... kinda reminds me of vajayjay! would you get the same vibe?

In HS there were very few friends that called me Maggie and others who called me Meg. Meg tops my list for your choices

Margot is on my list of potential names if we ever had another daughter, as is Martha. They both have similarities to Margaret without being too obvious.

Violet Iris Martha and Violet Iris Margot both flow nicely in my opinion.
