Do you use with every change? I have been using Sudocream every change ten having a good wash off in bath of with cotton wool and water at least once a day. And nappy free time when we can usually few mins here and there.

What does everyone else do?

I use it sudocrem every time we change her. Prevention is better than cure in my opinion :flower: When she was first born she had a sore bum because she pooed every nappy change, so we used metanium and it cleared it up and since then it's been fine.

Like the poster below me mentioned I used a different cream for her sore bum as I was worried it may not be as effective.

Hiya. I tend not to use it at every change. I only use if bum is red at all. The reason I don't use it at every change is because it may not be as effective when they have a sore bum if they r used to it. That's only my opinion but everyone has there own preferences. Saying that, the day care my lo goes to seem to use it at each change. I work with kids and we only use if red. Hope this helps x

I have a selection of different creams and usually put something on!

With DD3 I used pawpaw ointment most changes which was fantastic. This time I have some eco-store nappy balm which I only use if I think she needs it.
I wouldn't use it all the time.

I am guessing sudocream is a diaper rash cream right?

I only have put it on if it is red on her bottom, but that is pretty rare. 10 months old and I still have the small tube of diaper rash cream I bought before she was born, and it's half full.

We only use if red and we've prob only used it once when he had diareah. We're lucky that he's never had a sore bum.

I generally only put it on for her final nappy change before she goes to bed for the night. I will use it during the day if she looks red at all.

I don't use anything, he has never had a sore bottom so I don't want to put cream on just incase as I can't see it being good for the skin. I wipe him down with pampers sensitive baby wipes every change and pat his bottom dry then nappy back on.

I only use it if its red at all, i wouldnt put it on every change as being a barrier cream im guessing it doesnt allow to the skin to "breathe" as much and i read something about using it all the while can actually affect how well the nappy absorbs the wee, something like that anyway really not sure how true that is mind you!

I've only used (Weleda) a few times and that was for the elastic marks on his legs as I think his new nappies are too tight (but size 3, so a little too big otherwise?); we use baby wipes after every poo and one wipe after a pee. So far, so good!

best wishes

I just use a bit of vaseline - it is a good barrier and I don't like using anything medicated unless necessary.
