I need some advice. My husband and I are starting to TTC. I am doing BBT, ovulation kit, and soon I will be using clearblue fertility monitor (it's pricey but has some great reviews) when my next cycle comes.

I need to know if you think we are on the right track so far because we are still somewhat new to this. I'm sorry, I don't know how to name things as "CD" so I have listed it number of "days after my period ended" instead. BD = baby dance

2 days after my period ended, I temped 97.53 when I awoke. I believe we also BD'd this day but I didn't record it. I am positive we BD the next day (3 days after period ended). Day 6-9 after period ended, we BD'd everyday then.

7 days after my period ended, I checked with ovulation kit and got clear positive ovulation. It might've been positive the day before but I unfortunately didn't check Day 6. However we did BD from day 6-9 so we covered our bases even if I didn't check. Day 7 my temp was 97.33f, and day 8 (got positive ovulation again) it was 97.79f. day 9 (yesterday) it was 97.72f. Today it was 97.89f. all temps were done when I awoke at same time each day.

we didn't BD yesterday or today but we did BD on Tuesday (the day I got 97.79f). Will the sperm from Tuesday last until tomorrow (Friday)?

By doing all this, how good are our chances of conceiving?

Hey :) looks like you're doing everything right - CD means cycle day, cd1 is the day you start your period and then you just keep counting until it starts again (or hopefully doesn't cause you get a bfp!)

I don't temp but from the charts I've seen I feel like the temperature jump should be higher than that if you're i'ing, but that's different for everybody I guess. I would google it a little bit if I was you :)

OPKs can be positive 24-48 hours before ovulation, so if you got two days in a row it might not have happened until the third day.
Sperm can live up to 4-5 days in optimal conditions but I would say if you can, bd every day until your temps go down again and you don't get a positive opk.

Hope that helps just a little, you should join us on the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) thread!

Babydust to you :hugs:

hi maggz,

thanks for your reply. i feel better we are on the right track. what is bfp?

In CD terms, I got positive ovulation on CD13 and CD14, and negative on CD15. i never get up to 98F the whole cycle. I temp in the morning. I guess my body is cooler in the morning. I always hover between 97-98F.

BFP is big fat positive on a pregnancy test :)

Great I hope you got a little bean coming!

Don't worry to much about your actual temps, you just want to make sure that there is a difference between your different parts of the cycle.

My temps seem to run low as well ( maybe why I'm always cold). I seem to be normal around 97.5, temp drops to 96 (lower than any paper charts go)during my AF=Aunt Flo, although some months it doesn't take the drop till the end and then rise to high 97s or low 98s after O. So there is still a clear difference between the three parts of my cycle.

Some months I see a clear jump in either direction and sometimes there seems to be more of a staircase effect on my chart, which confused my app, but I can still see a clear difference in temps.
