hello! can you tell me please what benifits you get as a single mum, thanks? :flower:

if im right it realy dpends on what youre situation is im already on income suport and in collge but at 28 weeks they will chnage it from beign on income suport cos im in col to being a sinagal mum also get money off the dad but if he is not on the bc and you are not involed with him at all then i think that you get the extra money off the cousal but im not to infromed on this kind of stuff and im shore you no about the 2 grants one for 190 pounds and then another for i think 500 but if you go to youre local job center and use the fre phones to ring the help line they will tell you anything you need to no :D sorry i have dixleser so my spellign is rly bad :S

Income support, child benefit, child tax credit, housing benefit and council tax benefit. I think it depends on your circumstances, if your living on your own etc

Yep, If you live on your own with LO its all the ones stated above, if you live with parents or family its just Income support, Child benefit and Child tax credits.

Any child maintenence you get will afftect your income support.

hey like everyone else says it depends on your circumstances. I work and im currently on maternity leave, so i get child benefit, child tax credit, working tax credit, maternity pay and get to keep all my child maintenence. I live with my parents atm, but i would get some help towards housing benefit and council tax if i did get a house.

As stated above, but wanted to add that you are allowed to keep £20 a week csa money without it affecting your income support, all the rest above goes back to the government. Eg.. csa you get £45 , you get to keep £20 = £25 left, government will take the £25.
You can either get full income support & let the csa just send you the £20 once they recieve it from the dad, OR you can keep the full csa but your income support will be reduced.
Personal experience i would keep the full income support, As if the dad doesn't pay csa one week you will be very stuck. Then if you get csa its a bonus.

CSA told me not last week but the week before theyve just changed it that you get the full amount and the gov changes your income support accordingly.. you cant choose. They used to do it the csa would keep it and ud get £20 but theyve changed it round now so you get it all then whatever % of income support depending on your child maintenence amount.

Double check that hun, coz they cant do that incase a non resident parent doesn't pay. i still recieve my full income support & when joshs dads csa money finally arrives they just send me £20 per wk, If they reduce the income support by £40 then id have £40 less a week to live on as his dad never pays on time IF he actually pays at all. They can NEVER guarantee that csa payments will be recieved from a nrp.

Csa told jaxs dad other wk that apparently im a " private client " so that means im working ! pmsl .. thems the old rules from many moons ago.... now everyone is private so the knob tried grassing me up to benefits all coz of csa & their bullshit x

At the moment i get:

Housing benefit
Council Tax Benefit
Maternity Allowance
Child Tax Credit
Child Benefit
and i should get Child Maintanance payments too but so far FOB has yet to cough up!

yep no they have changed te rules cos i asked about well what if he doesnt pay? and they said well they cant guarentee but yeah.. ud be down money. new rules are v dumb/ but def changed.

I get Statutory Maternity Pay (miss out on working tax credits by 30mins )
Child Benefit
Child Tax Credits

And when I move out I'll get some help with Housing Benefit for the rent.

Child Maintance - Im not bothering with

xx
