My brother is currently doing a PhD in King's College, London and this Christmas he is bringing his first girlfriend home for the holidays. She is Australian and I have got her a couple of gifts, but we always like to get a silly present for everyone too... so I thought maybe a framed photo of Rolf Harris?? My oh suggested a hat with the corks but I thought that was a bit too obvious. A plush kangaroo maybe?? Any ideas welcome!! :flower:

just found this

^^

 Love it!!! Is she the type of girl that can have a laugh?!!!

i hope so!! i cant imagine my brother being with a girl who wouldnt see the funny side of that!

I'm Australian and I would be horrifed if my boyfriend's family would give me these stereotypical "Aussie" items.

I would get her a nice item of clothing (ask your brother what size she is) or a pamper pack.

Even if you think it's funny and she would have a sense of humor I think for Christmas it is a wrong tme to be buying such a thing.

How would you like it if she bought you a Shamrock keyring, or a small pot of "gold" or a Seniad O'conner CD? Because your Irish.

Yesterday my older sister saw a t-shirt which had the caption "I'm not drunk, I'm just chemically unbalanced". She was going to get this for her brother in-law who has schizopherenia. She thoughti t was funny it's just plan rude.

NuKe did say that she'd got her brother's GF a 'few' gifts - I expect the 'steriotypical aussie item' is just ONE thing out of three or four?

i think the cd is a great idea, and as you said! you like to buy everybody a funny gift so it would be an awful shame to leave her out the fun hehe! xxx
