About me. This is my 8th baby. I had gd for the first time with my last baby. I had to take oral meds for it. This pregnancy i was tested at 16 weeks came back 115 so perfect. Again at 24 ish weeks and it was 139 so 1 point lower than fail. So at my 29 week apt i asked to be checked again. I was declined. But she wrote me a script for test strips as i still have my monitor from last year. Getting to the point. I have been checking periodicly with higher numbers but hvent checked in a few days. Last night before going to bed i got really sick hungry fainting feeling which normally for me means my levels are lower than 100. I was going to eat a snack but wanted to check my levels anyways. 4 hrs post meal my level was 278 5 hrs post meal it was 233. So i didnt eat a snack. Today i wanted to check my fasting level and my fasting time was 12-1/2hrs and it was 154. Now i thought my machine was on the wack but i tested my 9 yr old son and his was 83. I never had a fasting level over 95 even when i was dx with gd last year. HELP. What should i do? Should i not eat until it goes down?

You should call your doctor ASAP (I'd probably even call and have them paged today).

Well i am trying to wait it out til Tuesday when i go in again. Ive been trying to eat well. For dinner i had a tuna saanwich. No carbs in the tuna but some in the bread. I had only half the cabs i was suppose to have and after 2 hrs post meal my level was still high.189. How can that be?i skipped snacking all day and not once had a soda today. Does it even matter? As i am close to having her anyways? I have preterm babies.

Hi, dont want to scare you but your numbers are really high, and you need medication asap. Can you call you provider and ask for an appointment tomorrow? Im afraid that just the diet will not help :(.

Wow your numbers are pretty high. You should call your Doc ASAP, you will most likely be put on meds. You should never skip any meals/snacks. Hopefully you get it under control soon, good luck.

I have GD and if those were my numbers... I'd go to the emergent care or emergency room immediately. You need a shot of insulin.

My fasting level is better this morning. Its still high for me but its not like yesterdays. It was 109. I will give them a call when they open. Thank you ladies.
