hey ladies, I need some assistance, I have pcos, I have been monitoring my opks, im on cd 17 today....... I need help with reading my opks...... I never got a positive with my first baby (took 2 years to fall pregnant). and now im having issues with my opks again.

Top to bottom
cd 16, 3pm
cd16, 8pm - cramping in pm
cd17 (today) 10 am no cramping.

it seems to me that my darkest one was at 3pm yesterday.... so unless I ovulated between 3pm and 8 pm?? I dont know... the cramping started before 8pm when I took the next opk.....

How long are your cycles normally? The top one looks pretty good. I've heard mixed things...I've heard that having the border of the test line be as dark as the control then it means ovulation..but I'm not sure. I used these for months! But I got so tired of trying to figure them out that I am switching to digi OPKs in order to eliminate user error. Just an idea. GL and lots of :dust:

Thanks hun, how do threw digital ones work? My cycles are all over the shop. Last cycle was 50 days I'm hoping this one is shorter.

Oh baby dust to you Tim. Just noticed your almost due to test!! :) gl!!!! I would have tested by now! U have patience. Lol

the test line is supposed to be darker than the control line in order for it to be positive.. i would say keep testing and back it up with temping so that you get an accurate ovulation day. Good luck!

Thanks! :) It's been really hard not to! lol. I am determined to wait until I miss AF!

The digital ones, at least the ones by ClearBlue, show a smiley face if you are about to ovulate or an empty circle if not ovulating yet. That way you don't have to interpret the test results.

Hope you get your positive OPK soon! :)

those all look negative. This month i ovulated several days earlier than anticipated, and so i didn't start testing until it was too late. I suggest starting to OPK the day after your period just to be on the safe side. Also CD 16 seems a bit late to be ovulating in generally. I really think you need to start testing much MUCH earlier !

cd 16 is not late at all to ovulate! its a perfectly normal.. I ovulate anywhere between cd16-20 and i'm just fine..

Well the opks are STILL the same... haven't gotten any darker but haven't gotten any lighter either.... humph. But tonight I have sevear lower back pain like my period is about to arrive. :( can't even get to ovulation let a lone 2ww.

Oh no no you're absolutely right, and with the OPs erratic cycle she may not ovulate until much later as well ! thus is the problem with the biology eh ? (i think i missed in there to begin with she has had very long cycles, hence my reply)

Top are you temping and charting as well ? the OPKS of course aren't an indicator of ovulation but of an LH surge.

They are more expensive, but I really like the Clear Blue digital tests. It take the guess work out of OPKs. You either get an empty circle (negative) or a smiley face (positive). For me, the satisfaction of seeing a smile is worth the money. The pics you posted, however, do look negative. The line has to be as dark or darker than the control line.

As you know - some women don't get positive OPKs, or they have such a short surge they generally miss it. Best to just keeping on dancin'. If you are temping you will know if you ovulated which can also help. You find out after the fact, but it's nice to know it happened.

Hi thanks! No I'm not tempting or charting. I don't wake at a regular time to temp and with a 1yr old that's still not sleeping threw the night and 50-70 day cycles I don't have the patience. I missed doing an opk yesterday and I did one this morning and it's fainter than faint. It's defiantly much lighter than what I've been getting.
