Need some input please

Hi everyone,
I have searched around for any quizzes, tests, calculators to help me but have yet to find one. I need some input on what you think I am having.
This is my first pregnancy and we were actively trying to conceive. I used clearblue advanced ovulation tests. For those who don't know how they work, they track not only your LH level but also your estrogen level; non-fertile days you get an empty circle. On high fertile days you (when estrogen is rising) you get a flashing smiley face. On your peak days (when you have an LH surge) you get a solid smiley face and it means you are going to ovulate within 48 hours. My cycles are 31 days. My lmp was oct. 6 - oct. 12. I started using the opk on oct. 21.
Oct. 21- negative opk, empty circle
Oct. 22- negative opk both morning and night, empty circle, had sex
Oct. 23- positive opk in morning, solid smiley
Went straight from nothing to peak, no high fertile days.

Oct. 22 & 23 had egg white discharge. On oct. 24 I was completely dry. We got a BFP on November 3.
My question is, based on my CM did I ovulate on the 23 or 24?
And if I didn't ovulate on the 23, what are my chances I having a boy or girl? We really are hoping for a boy (obviously happy with either).
Do I have pretty good chances of a boy?

I am 9 weeks along now. I don't have any nausea, I've only thrown up twice right after eating, no acne, tired occasionally.

Thank you in advance for any input, I'm kind of going crazy trying to find out at least opinions on what I'm having based on intercourse and ovulation.

I would think your chances are pretty high for a boy since you had sex right before you ovulated. I believe if you have sex like 3 or 4 days before you have a better chances for a girl. Have you had an ultrasound yet? There is a theory by Ramzi that you can do by looking at your ultrasound from week 6-8 and judging the location of the placenta. If its on the right its a boy and left its a girl.

I've had a couple of ultrasounds because of a subchorionic hematoma.
How would I be able to determine if the placenta is on the left or right?
Would I just have to ask my ob?

Thank you for your reply. I've been looking up average time it takes for girl sperm to reach the egg so I can see my chances of both. I haven't been able to find anything that will help me except for the gender myths and Chinese prediction which doesn't help me.

That would be the most accurate way because there is so many discussions about if its done vaginally its the same as looking at picture and if its done abdominally its a mirror image. I didn't ask my ultrasound tech the location when I went and now I'm left with just a picture trying to interpret it lol.. Guess I will have to wait a few more weeks before it can actually be confirmed.
